Xaviers!

It didn't take Tereza long to get back into the garage. She had the last few pieces to go on her motorcycle and she was determined to get them in place so she could sell the motorcycle. She tightens the last bolt, testing the part to make sure it's seated properly, then she checks all the other parts again before pouring some gas in the tank and sealing that up. She checks everything again, throwing one leg over the seat as she pauses for a moment, staring at the bike as if she's afraid it might fall apart.

"So you're in one piece," comes a voice from the doorway.

"More or less," Tereza says, looking up. "Hold down the fort okay while I was gone?"

"Nothing dangerous," she says dismissively.

"I... did come in contact with someone unexpected, though."

"Good unexpected or bad unexpected?"

"Depends on if he's mellowed out. I'm not sure he has."

"Who's this 'he'?" Tereza asks, having a growing suspicion she's not going to like the answer.

"One of my... prior attempts."

Tereza's quiet for a moment. Finally she says, "I see. People from our old lives contacting us is rarely a good thing."

"He's from Sweden. He's not a Viking. Obviously there weren't Vikings even when I was a child."

"What he happens to be is... he's wrapped himself in those trappings. It helps him cope with what he is. Oh, he'll dress modern when he needs to keep up appearances, but I suppose he's a... how do they say it now? A costume player?"

"That sounds a little disturbed, but I suppose we cope in our own ways and none of us are sane."

"He's decided that he is, that we all are Úlfhéðnar. Odin's sacred wolves."

"I don't think he's ever sought out that blonde oaf on television to try to confirm it."

"Getting close to him would be difficult," she says. "So why bring this to me? Why not just tell him to get lost and forget you ever heard from him?"

"Because... I'm trying not to go things alone anymore."

"And possibly because I haven't thought of how to bring it up to Wanda."

"Fair enough," Tereza says, seemingly happy with at least the first part of the answer. "What's so hard about telling Wanda? She knows you're the dark past sort of woman."

"He's one of the closest things I have to a child and there's a better than average chance he's going to try to start something."

"And you don't want her to worry," Tereza says, kick starting the motorcycle. The motorcycle sputters briefly to life before the engine chokes briefly and dies. She frowns thoughtfully.

"I'd rather this not become a whole... thing. Fights among us tend not to be tidy at all."

"Sam and I could try to find him and run him off. You wouldn't need to get involved."

She seems to consider this for a moment, then curls a lip before letting out a long breath.

"...doesn't feel right."

"So then you and I go run him off, or at least make it clear he's not welcome unless he behaves."

"Better. Part of me still wants to rip his throat out if he steps out of line, but we can try it your way..."

"Less of a hassle to just send him packing. People get antsy when throats start getting ripped out."
