Tereza had bailed from the van as soon as they'd returned, taking her large shaggy self into the woods and finding a quiet place to hide.

You were kind of brutal out there.

I was efficient. I did what had to be done. You don't toy with the prey, especially not dangerous prey like that.

I suppose. Still...

It was readily evident that the wolf was very much in-charge in so far as "in-charge" went.

Steph, still high off her recent good luck with a certain sharkferretboy found herself prowling through the woods in a much better place mentally than she normally did. Some time into her extended stroll she caught a familiar scent and made her way towards it, her hackles starting to raise despite her calmer half's reassurances that this was a nice wolf who they'd met before.

"Tereza?" she called out.

There's a snuffle snorting noise from under a pile of snow at the base of a tree and Tereza's head lifts out of the snow, looking around before her eyes settle on Stephanie. "Here," she says.

“You okay?” she asked, feeling the tension in the air.

"No," she says, "Rough day. Had to hunt."

“Rough because you had to hunt or needed to hunt because it was rough?”

After a moment's contemplation, she responds with "Yes." After seeing that more explanation is necessary. "Had to chase someone who'd taken over Will. Too many people... couldn't do it the way I needed to."

“Anything I can help with? Not that I’m all that good at wolf shi—stuff.”

"Neither am I. Had to call Sam to hunt with me. Ended up... I don't know." Her head sinks back into the snow.

“You’re sort of new to the wolf thing too I guess, right?” she asked, taking a seat on a rock a few meters from the other werewolf.

"Pretty new," Tereza acknowledges, "There's an older wolf on campus, the one that bit me."

“She’s the other one I...smell then? Do you...get along?”

"We get along okay, I guess. She's... set in her ways."

“I don’t remember seeing anyone too old on campus...is she a student or staff?”

"Neither. She looks like she's maybe around our age, but she's a lot older."

“Is that a thing for...werewolves?”

She looked up at the moon, “I’m still not used to all of the strangeness here...talking about werewolves when not listening to someone talk about a video game or something is still pretty new for me.”

"I guess. She's been alive for at least a couple of centuries by her telling of it."

"C-centuries?" she asked.

Tereza nods, "From a time when they were burning women as witches."

“I...wow,” she replied, thinking of so many questions she had for someone who had lived through so much.

“So...was the hunt a success?"

"Relatively speaking, but unforgivably messy. I don't recommend hunting in cities."

"I’ll bet....Being around a lot of people is pretty overwhelming...my first change was terrifying on a lot of levels, but being just...bombarded with smells and sounds in the city for the first time was insane."

"Everything is either threat or prey, it can be kind of disorienting."

“I know exactly what you mean....after I changed in a bar near school ran twenty some blocks through the loop in Chicago and climbed a tree in Grant Park to hide, until I broke the tree and the cops found me.”

“....probably wasn’t hiding very well anyway”

"This form isn't usually about hiding."

“No...not at all,” she chuckled, “Subtlety, modesty, and self control are not things I’ve been excelling at of late. And my ten years of not eating meat went right out the window”

"To a certain extent, that's okay, so long as you're in a safe place. And you can't spread whatever this is like I can."

“How easily does it spread? Do you have to bite someone, or can claws do it too?”

"Just bite as far as I know. I haven't asked Isolde too much about it."

“Well, that limits the potential for it to spread, I guess,” she offered.
