Napping Dragons

The Estate's meticulously kept gardens, including a hedgemaze that students have occasionally described as "sadistic" and a sizable rose garden. Benches in shaded spots are plentiful, and the gardens are popular to study in on pleasant days. The nearby stables are still maintained with a number of well-heeled equines.

Napping Dragons

Postby Aiden Mitchell » Tue Mar 19, 2019 9:38 pm

In the middle of the quad a red dragon napped. It hadn't been there a moment ago, but it was there now. It hadn't noticed moving between dimensions and whatever had caused the transit didn't seem to wake it.

" Not what I would expect to find lying around in this dimension," the Phoenix said, as she approached the dragon.

The dragons eyes snapped open looking towards the Phoenix.

"I am not from here, originally" Aiden rumbled, "I crashed through a portal to here some time ago though."

The dragon had not yet noticed things were amiss.

Aiden looked at the Phoenix and rose slowly to his feet. He didn't recognize the Phoenix from anyone at the moment.

"I rather like this one," Aiden said, "it taught me to be a hero. I'm not sure what this problem is that you're threatening me because of, but it cannot possibly be worth fighting a dragon."

Aiden looked at the Phoenix for a moment. Thinking through what he knew about the X-Men of his new home plane and several pieces began falling into place.

"I thought you would be bigger," Aiden rumbled unwilling to admit that this was a fight he would lose quickly (very quickly at that). "Why exactly are you here? I cannot imagine you come to threaten dragons taking naps as a break from roaming the universe."

Aiden looked around as if for the fist time and saw that things were not how they were supposed to be. What with multiple dimensions trying to overlap on each other.

"Multiple dimensional incursions?" Aiden asked looking around, "This is... not good."

Aiden made a laughing noise? It sounded like rocks falling down a cliff, but he lowered himself to the ground to allow people onto his back.

"The air is strange here," Aiden runbled, "But I've flown in worse. Perhaps we can find the other students."

Aiden scales seemed to shimmer turning many different colors as he looked towards the sky. They eventually settled on red again.

Drake was out flying when the world went insane. When he finally reoriented himself, he laid eyes on the big honking dragon and fire lady on the lawn and swooped in for a landing.

"Holy shit, are you a real dragon?!" he asked excitedly.

"You are familiar, one would hope, with the three spacial dimensions; the dimensions you can move around in freely, as long as you are not obstructed by gravity. Or a wall.

You may also be familiar with the fourth dimension; one of time, where most of us can only move in one direction at one constant speed.

The fifth dimension is one of probability. The things that happen to you, the events that occur, are the most likely to happen...in your space of probability. This is not something people can simply move between; fifth-dimensional movement is nigh-impossible and highly dangerous. I would suggest checking the work of Adams to learn more.

Fifth-dimensional space is apparently collapsing around us, crunching down into one."
