Sept 9 - Shady character (open thread)

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

One of the girls gave the other a push, whose face was flushed.

"That was inappropriate of me, sorry."

[Nailah Weaver]

"What?" she asks, oblivious.

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

Two of them looked at each other before one replied. "Ah, it's just impolite to ask what's going on under someone's clothes."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Oh. Oh! I didn't... that's not... I didn't realize..." she stammers.

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

The three girls tilted their heads in different directions as the looked at Nailah. "What? We're the ones who should feel embarrassed, not you."

[Nailah Weaver]

"I didn't realize you were asking about... I thought you just meant whether the fur goes up to my stomach."

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"I was, and I shouldn't have."
"Why, what did you think I meant?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"Just.. you know... Whatever, forget about it, it's fine." she tries to drop the topic.

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"Yeah, we're way too sober to be talking about these things without it being awkward."

[Nailah Weaver]

"So, uhm, this place probably doesn't feel all that different to you, coming form Genosha and all, huh?" she awkwardly changes the subject.

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"What, you mean being around other mutants? Yeah, feels pretty normal to me now. Of course I also grew up in the States so I know how it feels otherwise. What about you?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"I was homeschooled, so this is all kinds of new and amazing to me."

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"Oh, wow, you're gonna get into SO much trouble." Jez smiled, one of her copies sitting back down into herself, leaving just the twins instead of triplets.

[Nailah Weaver]

"Hey, what's that supposed to mean?" she chuckles.

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"It meaaaaaaans we're already supposed to go crazy and do stupid stuff with our first taste of freedom. For you it's a big double-dose, so this is gonna be intense."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Oh pff! Just because my parents wouldn't be happy with me being on the teams. And I guess they'd probably wouldn't approve of Onyx either..."

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

If Jez had cat ears they'd have perked up. "Oh, who is Onyx? I don't think I've met them."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Really? She's hard to miss. She wears one of those superhero masks all the time."

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"Oh, those cute little domino masks like in the comic books? I should get one of those."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Yeah. I guess you could ask her where she got it from."

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"Great, now I gotta design a whole outfit if I'm going to be dogpiling people."
"No cape."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Careful or your codename's gonna end up 'Dogpile'." she chuckles.

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"Ugh, that'd be terrible. Then people would call me Doggy-style or something."

[Nailah Weaver]

"I don't think anybody would be that mean."

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"Oh my sweet summer child. My beautiful cinnamon roll, too good for this world, too pure." One of them let out a wistful sigh.

[Nailah Weaver]

"Okay, okay, fine. What about Copycat?"

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

Jez thought about that for a moment. "It's not bad, but I think that would better suit someone who can copy other people, like a shapeshifter. Like if that green-haired guy, Will, if he could only change himself to look like other people? That'd be a good name for him."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Hmm, that's a fair point."

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"Don't worry, we'll come up with something good. I think I will take your advice though, and at the very least try out some of the combat classes the school provides. Even if it's just self-defense it's useful to have, right?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"Yeah, that's just smart, even if you're not gonna throw yourself at supervillains."

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"Yeah 'cause who knows, they could throw themselves at me. Or I could get mugged or something."

[Nailah Weaver]

"You could probably take a mugger at least. But still."

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"Well maybe, but there's still the risk that I'll be the one he hits with a bullet."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Yeah... I heard Tosh got shot, but he seemed okay. Turning into a giant shark probably helps with that."

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"Wait, what? What happened?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"There was a bank robbery. They stopped it!"

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"For real? Wow, I guess I really gotta start paying more attention, I didn't hear anything about that. Is he alright?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"Yeah, he's pretty tough."
