The Math Of Aftermath

"Son of a bitch!" There was the sound of something large and metal being thrown against the inside wall of the garage, followed by a chunk of bumper sailing out the open garage door.

Since that's a voice Sam rather knows, she pokes her head in the garage.

"...easy there, love."

"Someone wrecked up my car!" Tereza says, gesturing at the, well, now missing-some-more-pieces car. The bumpers were missing and what was left of them looked as if they'd been sheered with a blowtorch. Some other, predominately metal, parts seemed to be missing as well.

"I'm hearing crazy things. Apparently tiny robots or something?"

"I mean, that's not weirder than when we were stuck in our room navigating the carpet."

"Remind me to vacuum the room by the way," Tereza says, shaking her head and crossing her arms as she refocused on the car.

"Maybe we can get parts from a junkyard?"

"Or I guess worst case, we beg someone like Tosh to machine us some stuff."

"It's just... extra, you know. More work that I have to do now."

"You know you don't have to do it on your own, aye?"

"I know..." She sighs, "I just don't have time for this. I've got to keep an eye on Viv, work at the bar, practice for the band, and keep up with my homework at least enough so that I can stay here. It's just starting to feel like a lot."

"I've got no head for this but I can follow directions. We'll get it done."

"At least Viv's gettting... house trained. Ish."

"She's doing well, but I still worry. You must be rubbing off on me."

"We're kind of meeting in the middle, I think."

"Not that I'm complaining, aye?"

"It's a pack. If we're not supporting each other, we're doing it wrong."

"Scouting parts to fix this, I guess. Can't really ask you to do my homework. I think the professors would catch on."

"I could do your shift at the bar," she smirks, shifting into a fairly convincing Tereza.

Tereza gives her an appraising look. "I mean, you could pour beer, but occasionally people do ask for a mixed drink. You know your way around that?"

Sam's mimicry of Tereza isn't perfect, but it's pretty close. Sam is around Tereza a fair bit, after all. At the same time, it's definitely not what Tereza sees in the mirror. Some small imperfections are simply gone, overlooked by her girlfriend. Other differences are more subtle. A bit more muscle definition and some features Tereza only sports when her wolf is close to the surface.

"Not... so much. But I've seen you consult the bartender's bible."

She smiles at the 'imperfections' in the image. "Your wolf is showing," she says, reaching out to touch a tuft of white hair on Sam's temple.

"Ah, damn. I thought I got it this time."

"Is showing your wolf bad for business at the bar?"

"Depends on who's in the bar at the time," Tereza says with a smile and a shrug. "Some people like their bartender to be a bit... dangerous looking."

"Well, obviously I can see the appeal," she smirks to Tereza, showing faintly sharp teeth.

"I can work on it, though. If you ever need a night off."

"I know Vivienne's been talking about one-on-one date nights with each of us and I was trying to figure out where we were going to fit in time for those as well."

Sam shrugs, red seeping back into her hair as she shifts back to herself.

"It's not a bad idea. It's easier to get two of us together for a night than all three, aye?"

"Plus they might not give us quite as much of a dirty look at the buffet."

"Plus then the two of you can talk about how wonderful I am without me blushing," Tereza grins.

"That's an odd way to say 'plan pranks on you without you overhearing,'" She chuckles.

"We are stealing all the spoons from the cafeteria and hiding them in her bed?" Vivienne offered from the doorway.
