[Plot] Meet the New Boss...

[Nailah Weaver]

"Oh it's both, is it"? she chuckles, wobbling a bit and flailing her arms as she tries to grab onto something for balance, which happens to be Quinn's sleeve.

"Okay maybe it's a little disorienting."

[Quinn Quartermain]

"Yeah," Quinn chuckled grabbing on to Nailah to help her keep her balance. "You'd probably have better luck keeping balance if we did a swap of some kind, though that may be an idea for a time when there isn't someone vomiting in my bathroom."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Yeah... Maybe twist me back around before he comes back out and ruins the carpet."

[Quinn Quartermain]

"Right, back in the box with you," Quinn nodded.

"I don't need Tosh to tap on the box three times. That was showmanship."

[Nailah Weaver]

"I figured." she says as she clambers back into the box.

"Do you need the box though?"

[Quinn Quartermain]

"For something like this? I do indeed. Though it doesn't need to be this box," he said, shutting the door behind Nailah and giving the top of the box a twist.

"Right as rain."

[Toshiro Narumi]

The toilet flushed and Tosh cracked the door to ask, "Her head on straight yet?"

[Quinn Quartermain]

"No more than normal, I'm afraid. I'm not a miracle worker," Quinn joked.

[Nailah Weaver]

"Very funny." Nailah chuckles as she steps out of the box. "Yeah, I'm back to normal, Tosh."

[Toshiro Narumi]

"Good," Tosh said as he came back into the room, "Not really sure why that got to me so much. I blame the blood loss. Seems like a good excuse."

[Quinn Quartermain]

"Well, not everything is for everyone. Seems some things can still make a fellow squeamish, even at a mutant university."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Just be aware that I will tease you mercilessly about this for a while." Nailah smirks.

[Toshiro Narumi]

"As long as you don't do it by turning your head around backwards. Come to think of it, I always hate that in movies too."

[Quinn Quartermain]

"Was there any kind of magic you would have preferred to see? After all, you did want to see the show."

[Toshiro Narumi]

"What about levitation or teleportation? Spontaneous rabbits? Impress me."

[Quinn Quartermain]

"Impress you, is it? Not impressed when I teleported in, or when I turned Nailah's head around? You are tough to please," Quinn tsked.

He reached back into his closet and pulled out a dusty top hat, blowing on it. "But if you're old school, I can go old school."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Can you do stuff that's not real? Like one of those bunnies with antlers?" Nailah asks, excitedly.

[Quinn Quartermain]

"Can I...what? No, that's not a thing. Those don't exist."

[Toshiro Narumi]

"How about a ferret then? A rabbit is kinda cliché."

[Quinn Quartermain]

"Alright, I'll give it a shot, but I warn you -- I'm not always the best of this. I'd say, oh, there's a one-in-three chance of me succeeding. It's a bit old-fashioned, innit?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"I mean, it's a classic. Wait, was there a one in three chance of screwing up my head-twisty thingie too?" Nailah asks, realizing the potential danger of a situation way too late.

[Quinn Quartermain]

"Oh, no no, not at all," Quinn reassured her. "But that involved a willing participant. You've got to let the magic flow and work through you.

In fact, maybe we can up my odds here by having us all help. Both of you, close your eyes, and repeat after me:

I believe in magic. Come along with me..."

[Nailah Weaver]

Nailah is all in at this point, it makes about as much sense as seeing the future to her, so she closes her eyes and repeats after Quinn.

"I believe in magic. Come along with me..."

[Toshiro Narumi]

Tosh rolled his eyes before closing them and reciting, "I believe in magic. Come along with me..."

[Quinn Quartermain]

Quinn smirked just a little bit -- never, ever, ever trust a magician.

"And a one...two...three!"

Tosh would feel a weird sensation, like everything around him was stretching and twisting. And then a sort of sensation of falling, tumbling and disorientation, until something reached out and grabbed a hold of him, and he was pulled back up.


"Well, dang. I had an equal shot at shark, ferret, and person, and it looks like I got person."


Quinn had reached into his hat, and was holding a shrunken Tosh proudly in the air, laughing.

[Nailah Weaver]

"What the heck!" Nailah laughs. "That's hilarious!"

[Toshiro Narumi]

The tiny Tosh squirmed and kicked at the air.

"Hey! No it isn't! Change me back!" he squeaked.

[Quinn Quartermain]

Quinn scratched his head with a (played-up, clearly for show) puzzled expression.

"Back? Well, hrm, that's a new one for me. Not sure I've ever tried to put something back in my hat. I mean, that's just ridiculous," he said, furrowing his brow and attempting to look fake concerned.

[Toshiro Narumi]

"I turn into a shark, remember? An electric shark."

[Quinn Quartermain]

"And at this scale, you'd be perfectly fit for a Street Sharks action figure," Quinn laughed.

"Alright, alright, seesh. Back into the hat you go. One, two, buckle my shoe," he said, carefully placing Tosh back in the hat and tapping it with his wand three times.

Tosh would feel the same sensations, in reverse, and wind up sitting back on top of his bed.

[Toshiro Narumi]

Tosh looked nauseated again, and a bit upset. "Fantastic idea, carrying off the guy who just got kidnapped."

[Quinn Quartermain]

"It sounds, Tosh, like I'm not the one you should be speaking to about this.

The staff provides counseling services; maybe you'd like to speak to one of them? After all, you have gone through quite a time."

[Toshiro Narumi]

"I'm fine," he responded, lying to himself as much as anyone.

[Quinn Quartermain]

"Well, I can't disagree with that, but I was talking more about your emotional state," Quinn smiled.

[Toshiro Narumi]

"I know what you meant," he said defensively. "And I don't need counseling. I just need time to process."

[Quinn Quartermain]

"Well, then, I shall give it to you. I'm sorry this didn't work better for you; have a good rest of your day," Quinn said, opening his door for Tosh.
