"I'm curious, why solo and not the teams?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"I'm on the teams. Technically. But I dunno, this all really kicked off when Onyx taught me how to do all of this stuff and I just kinda... kept doing it?"

[Chase Delacroix]

"So that makes two of us who wouldn't be doing this if not for her. She never got over the trying to kill her thing though."

[Nailah Weaver]

"I think she never quite got over a lot of things..." she sighs.

[Chase Delacroix]

"I'm still grateful. It might not have been her intent, but her capturing me was the best thing to ever happen to me."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Yeah, I'm glad she was here, I just wish I could've helped her more."

[Chase Delacroix]

"Why did she leave anyway?"

[Nailah Weaver]

She shrugs. "She just disappeared one day. Maybe she went back to Madripoor to her mom."

[Chase Delacroix]

"It's too bad she left, but there's a need for heroes there. And few willing to try."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Yeah, she's probably needed there more than here..."

[Chase Delacroix]

"I don't think I'm brave enough to go back there. Maybe some day. But never to stay."

[Nailah Weaver]

"I didn't see much of it when I was there, but if half the stuff on the internet is true then it's not a great place to be, no."

[Chase Delacroix]

"Between the crime, the corruption, and the stuff that's crime practically everywhere remotely civilized but isn't there... yeah it's pretty broken."

[Nailah Weaver]

"No point dropping criminals off at the police station over there, huh. How do you even begin fixing that..."

[Chase Delacroix]

"I'm not sure you can. Not alone and probably not without violence."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Yeah... The world's kinda messy, isn't it?"

[Chase Delacroix]

"More than a little. And even messier in places like Madripoor. But it's the only world we have, so thecleaning has to start somewhere."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Right. Yeah. One step at a time!"

[Chase Delacroix]

"That's what I like to think the teams are for."

[Nailah Weaver]

"The teams and clandestine vigilantism." she nods.

[Chase Delacroix]

"One doesn't rule out the other," he said cryptically, not knowing if she knew about him saving the American president.

[Nailah Weaver]

"Oh! You look smug. You did some secret heroing!"

[Chase Delacroix]

"Well, one night Basil took me to this fancy Tiki bar. This girl starts flirting with me, but something about her was making me paranoid. Just when she almost had me convinced I was wrong, it turns out she's a Lotus assassin and she isn't alone. We start kung-fu fighting right there in the club. We won, but her partner got away. Because it wasn't me they were after.

I follow him outside, where I spot him getting into an armored limo. Bodyguards won't let me close, because the assassins had infiltrated them and told them we were a threat. Back inside I figure out their target was President Oswald. So, I decide to break into the embassy to stop the remaining assassin. I managed to stop him just in time, and dissappear."

[Nailah Weaver]

"No way! You're messing with me, right?"

[Chase Delacroix]

"Not in the least. The US government might never admit anything happened, but the first part had plenty of witnesses. On top of that, the X-Men mission to look into Lotus activity in Europe led us to our first encounter with the Skrull. Though we didn't know what we were dealing with at the time."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Mannnn... And I thought saving Lyon was something to brag about. Aliens and the President? And you never even told a soul!? God, that's so... so... cool." she begrudgingly admits.

[Chase Delacroix]

"I told the other X-Men. But no, no one else. I didn't think it was worth the risk, since I'm pretty sure I broke a ton of laws in the process."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Yeah, I'll bet!" she laughs.

[Chase Delacroix]

"Of course, if I had obeyed the law the former President would be a former person. So no guilt there."

[Nailah Weaver]

"I mean, sometimes you gotta... you know... do what's right, not what's legal..."

[Chase Delacroix]

"I agree completely. Especially when the law itself is wrong. Madripoor, for example. As far as their laws are concerned, I'm stolen property."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Right, yeah, exactly."

[Chase Delacroix]

"Guess I'm just as vigilante as you," he said. "Well, when the opportunity arises at least."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Dude, you have me beat for sure!" she laughs.

[Chase Delacroix]

"Well I am trained to sneak around and punch things," he chuckled.
