[Relationship] Not As Great as Imagined

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

Stephanie sat out on a bench in the gardens alone, staring up at the moon and the starlit sky. She'd spent a long time thinking of a time when she wouldn't have to deal with her powers, and now that it was here she generally just felt...hollow. Maybe she needed to go talk to someone about undoing...whatever it was that the recent headmaster had done?

[Toshiro Narumi]

Tosh quietly sat down next to her.

"Penny for your thoughts?"

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

Stephanie turned her head towards Tosh, a weak smile on her face as she held out her hand palm up, expectantly.

"Pay up then," she teased.

[Toshiro Narumi]

Tosh checked his pockets.

"I have a breath mint?" he offered.

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

“I’ll take it,” she smirked, grabbing the mind out of his hand, unwrapping it and popping it in her mouth.

“I’ve been thinking for almost a year now, how great it would be if the wolf just went away,” she said after a moment’s thought. “And now I...I don’t know?”

[Toshiro Narumi]

"It feels almost... like losing a sibling?" he asked, venturing a guess from how it felt having his other voices snuffed out.

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

“...Yeah” she agreed after a beat.

“I feel lonely....empty....weak?”

She looked over at Tosh a bit nervously, “Would you...still like me if I was stuck human? I feel like...we had sort of a connection since we both had crowded brains.”

[Toshiro Narumi]

He smiled, "Of course I would. It may have started from there but it's far from the only thing we've got. At least I think so."

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

“Good,” she smiled, seemingly reassured. “I mean...I thought so too.”

“...does it hurt, getting them back? Is there like...a risk that something could change and I’d be stuck as a wolf again?”

[Toshiro Narumi]

"Reactions have varied, but I don't know of anyone getting harmed because of it," he said assuringly.

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

"Will you come with me when it happens?"

[Toshiro Narumi]

"Of course," he smiled, putting his hand on hers with a reassuring squeeze.

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

“Do you have any more friends in your head after getting your powers back?” she teased, leaning over and resting her head on his shoulder and snuggling in as a chill breeze whipped up.

“What exactly do they do? Is it like. A shot or something?”

[Toshiro Narumi]

"Usually a shot. Though if Sam does it she just kinda pours it on you and Morrigans it into you with no regard to science whatsoever."

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

“I don’t know that I’ll ever quite understand the Morrigan thing...” she mused.

[Toshiro Narumi]

He chuckled. "Yeah, my science brain is never gonna process that."

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

“Isn’t it sort of like something from those games you play with Trev though?”

[Toshiro Narumi]

"Well, yeah, but it's not like that's in any way real."
