[Plot] Sparking Joy

[Narrator]

"Well, of course. Our poor princess is forced to wear that disgusting symbol of Latveria while she heals. We will not have it anymore! This will truly be my most important work to date."

[Robin Stanton]

"And you're sure that's gonna work? Heck even if it does, isn't that going to hurt?"

[Narrator]

"We all must suffer for our art, at times," Jacques said, dismissively.

[Robin Stanton]

"Easy to say when you're not the one doing the suffering."

[Narrator]

"I am sure Her Highness is suffering more for the plight of her people at the moment than from her injuries, such is the weight of the crown."

[Robin Stanton]

"Yikes. Have you at least done this before?"

[Narrator]

"I have had the honor of repairing a scar on Her Highness' leg, yes," Jacques said, a non-answer which tells more than an answer would.

[Robin Stanton]

"Yeah. Face, leg, I mean that's basically the same thing, right?"

[Narrator]

"Do not laugh! I am aware this is delicate work. But I have made statues of the princess before, and have received multiple medals and citations for my work. I am the preeminent expert on Her Highness' facial structure."

[Robin Stanton]

"No, I mean, I don't doubt your abilities. But, like, you're gonna be chiseling her face. For most people that's not a pleasant experience." she says, making a dramatic 'O' face and then squishing her cheeks in with both hands.

[Narrator]

Jacques just looked at her deforming her own face. "You don't say," he said, mildly.

[Robin Stanton]

"I'm just concerned for a fellow mutant, is all." she says, though it sounds more like 'Ahm hucht konchernd hor ah chelloh ngutangt.' because she's still squishing her face into a pink version of The Scream.

[Narrator]

"Believe me when I say, I have done as much rapid study and consideration as is feasible at this point in time," Jacques said. "I am not here to attempt to harm the princess."

[Robin Stanton]

"Right, right." she says, finally letting go of her face and returning to normal. "And when you think about it, plastic surgery's not any less grody."

[Narrator]

"Nor is flesh and blood as easy to manipulate.

I have some pieces arriving shortly that should assist me; previous casts and molds I have made of the princess. I am never saying that this should be easy, but then, that is why they sent for me."

[Robin Stanton]

"Having a mold of your face made is not what I would have imagined a Princess' duty to involve."

[Narrator]

"Well, not every statue can be hand-crafted by an artisan, nor can the Princess pose everywhere simultaneously. Some compromises had to be made.

The King does enjoy his statues so."

[Robin Stanton]

"I bet that feels great for Katarina." Robin points out sarcastically.

[Narrator]

"She has not complained to me. She knows her duties."

[Robin Stanton]

"Wouldn't be duties if they were fun, eh."

[Narrator]

"I am sure the princess enjoys it. It is her Calling, after all!"
