[Activity] Falling In And Out Of Focus

[Tereza Rozanov]

Nestled up against one of the trees, a nose-to-tail pile of silver-white fur slowly rises and falls, a gentle rhythm, possibly of sleep.

A flicker nearby reveals a small humanoid, just over three feet tall, perched on a branch as she regards the pile of fur. Another flicker and she's hiding in a nearby bush, looking at the pile of fur from a different angle. After a moment's pause, she slowly creeps towards the pile of fur, her soft garments making little sound. She has short, slightly-pointed ears and a round face.

[Will Stanton]

Will Stanton -- or, well, A Will Stanton -- was coming up the other way, dressed in an 'X' letterman sweater and carrying a stack full of books.

It did not appear that she had seen the small flickering humanoid just yet.

[Narrator]

The figure's ear twitches and she glances towards the approaching Will nervously. A flash of indecision crosses her face and then she lunges for the pile of white fur, hand outstretched.

[Will Stanton]

That movement caught Will's eye, but all she really had time to say was "eh?" as the thingy dove for Tereza.

[Tereza Rozanov]

The figure grabs some of the fur and quickly produces a pair of scissors, clipping the fur free in one smooth motion. She looks at Will one more time and vanishes. Tereza slowly begins to raise her head and blinks. "Wha...?"

[Will Stanton]

"Tereza? Are you, uh, alright?" Will said, scratching her head with her free hand. "You had a little...I don't even know what."

[Tereza Rozanov]

Tereza's hind leg itches at the missing fur and she tilts her head back and forth, causing something that looks like sand to fall out of her fur. "I'm... good. Just... groggy."

[Will Stanton]

"You've got a little, uh..." Will said, rubbing her own hair in mime.

"And do you, erm, know someone tiny who has grand plans of becoming a barber?"

[Tereza Rozanov]

"No," she says, shifting so that she has hands again. She runs a hand through the fur on her head, looking at the stuff falling, catching some of it in her free hand. "It's... sand."

[Will Stanton]

"...You're telling me that there's some kind of sandman sneaking around trimming people's hair?"

[Tereza Rozanov]

"I don't know," she says, "Maybe? You said 'tiny'?"

[Will Stanton]

"Yeah, like, 30 inches tall? Ish? Something in that vicinity? And then *poof*"

[Tereza Rozanov]

"I saw a few people fitting that description at Viv's Mom's place, but I can't imagine they'd do this."

[Will Stanton]

"You mean like..." Will said, trailing off and making flapping wing gestures with her hands.

[Tereza Rozanov]

"Well, I think only one of them had wings, but yeah," Tereza said, tilting her head as she sniffs at the sand.

[Will Stanton]

"Jinkies. Well, I assume that not all of them were in Court, yeah? Maybe it's some kind of rogue...whatever?"

[Tereza Rozanov]

"I suppose there's others on the other side of the veil or whatever it is. I don't really get how that works."

[Will Stanton]

Will shook her head. "Not my area of expertise, either.

Taking a lock of your hair, though? That seems like it's....something; especially if they, er, slept you to do it."

[Tereza Rozanov]

Tereza nods, "I can't think of a good reason someone might want to do that. I can't really think of any reasons someone would want to do that."

[Will Stanton]

"I mean, some kind of dark, fairy magic?

That, or you have a fan."

[Tereza Rozanov]

"I can do without fans like that," she says, scratching at the spot where the fur was cut. It's slowly growing back, filling out to it's former fluffiness.

[Will Stanton]

"You'd prefer the creepy voodoo explanation?"

[Tereza Rozanov]

"Well, no, but there's people around here who can do something about that. Creepy fans... I'm not sure what you do about that."

[Will Stanton]

"I suppose standard restraining orders don't work well in magical environments. Probably needs some kind of crazy ritual to get someone to stay 15 feet away," she joked.

[Tereza Rozanov]

"Probably. I'd have to ask Vivienne to see if she knows."

[Will Stanton]

"Makes sense to call in the expert."

[Tereza Rozanov]

"Well, more of an expert than me at any rate. Not sure anyone around this place would claim to be an expert, not even Isolde."

[Will Stanton]

"It's been my experience that Isolde thinks she knows everything, at the very least," Will laughed.

She paused in thought for a moment.

"Do you think the thing will come back, or has it gotten what it wanted?"

[Tereza Rozanov]

"Dunno. Not even sure what it was," she says, looking around, "I'm going to be napping in my room from now on for a while at any rate."

[Will Stanton]

Will scratched her chin.

"Or you could nap out here, and someone could keep an eye out on things for you."

[Tereza Rozanov]

"That presumes it will come back. That could be just a bunch of wasted effort if it doesn't."

[Will Stanton]

"Well, it was just an offer," Will shrugged. "No worries if you'd prefer not to follow up on it."
