Murphy burst through an outer hedge in the hedge maze. She had been told that it was hard, but it was easy enough when you realized you could just run through the hedges.
People always made things way too difficult on themselves, Murphy thought, brushing nettles and leaves out of her hair.

Tosh, not at all there pretending to be Theseus, jumped in surprise. He certainly didn't scream like a girl either.

Tosh tried really hard not to show just how much that hurt, but he still winced.
Murphy's powers would sense shark, crocodile, electric eel, and something else difficult to identify behind the obvious human element.

She smiles and shows off her ability by shifting a row of sharp teeth.

She demonstrates by crouching low. Then she jumps ridiculously high in the air before landing in a crouch.
