DT1 - Up, Up and Away!

[Nailah Weaver]

After fleeing from the gym Nailah runs out the door and after a couple of steps of flapping her wings takes to the air. Picking up speed she flys across campus until she feels she's put enough distance between herself and the gym. The rush of air around her also helps clear her head a little and she sets down in the garden. It takes her a couple of steps to lose all her momentum before she folds her wings, bending over a little with her hands on her knees to catch her breath.

[Haley Crusek]

"Hey Chica, you okay?" a chipper voice called from a bench a little way from Nailah.

Haley sat with one earbud in her ear and her phone in her hands, a large textbook ignored in her lap.

[Nailah Weaver]

Nailah is still in her workout clothes, which is to say she's wearing gym shorts and a blue tank-top with the Superman logo emblazoned on it.

"Oh. Hey. Y-yeah, I'm fine. Just out to get some fresh air."

[Haley Crusek]

Haley looked at her flying buddy dubiously.

"You sure? You've got a whole kinda....freaked out?... vibe going on?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"I've just been having... a weird couple of days, is all." she mumbles.

[Haley Crusek]

"Wanna talk about it? I'm a pretty good listener," she smiled reassuringly, taking her other earbud out of her ears.

[Nailah Weaver]

"I dunno... It all started when Sam asked me if I wanted to go eat some ice-cream with her and... I didn't want to disappoint her, so I said yes and I figured we'd just hang out. And it went alright, we were jsut talking and stuff but, like, she kept doing stuff like taking my hand and whatnot so it got kinda awkward and then last night I had this really, really confusing dream about fighting a dragon and Onyx was there but then she turned into Sam and everything was all weird..."

[Haley Crusek]

"I feel like most of my dreams are weird....Weird how? Like 'Oh no, the refrigerator is chasing me!' or 'Man, that was hot, why did I have to wake up?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"Kinda... both?"

[Haley Crusek]

"You made out with a fridge?" she joked.

"Seriously though...I'm guessing if you're kinda freaked about the dream...do you think that dreams mean anything especially important? I feel like most of the time mine, if they involve friends and classmates are either just really random or they're like...kinky as hell, so maybe I'm a bad person to help you try and interpret what things mean...but I know for some people, dreams are like...sorta ways of telling you you need to do something I guess?"

Haley twirled her hair around a finger in thought. "So...why was the date awkward? Did you not want to go? Oh wait...you...was this your first date?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"It kinda was. I didn't really... I mean I'm not... you know... I just didn't want to turn her down."

[Haley Crusek]

"Still kinda blows my mind you've never had a date...you're so pretty! But. Okay, so even if that was your first date hasn't anyone before ever sorta made you swoon? Given you those butterflies in your stomach when you think about them? Do either Sam or Onyx do that to you?"

Haley scratched her head in thought. " I mean, when I like a guy, pretty much all I can think about is just kissing them...and...well other stuff after that," she giggled.

[Nailah Weaver]

"Wh-what? No, why would I be thinking about kissing Onyx!" she says with an exaggerated laugh. "Onyx is a girl." Silly Haley.

[Haley Crusek]

"Well you said it was a hot dream so I kinda assumed..." she said trailing off. "I guess... Well. Do you even know if you like guys or girls?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"I like guys." she says with the tone of somebody who had never questioned that until now and was also being extremely defensive. "I don't even know how that would work otherwise." she tries to joke.

[Haley Crusek]

Haley shrugged, "Well, I mean, lots of gay folks in the world...plenty of folks into both guys and girls too. Only folks that have an issue with that are douchebags and like, that one really racist old relative everyone has. But if you like dudes, that's cool. But how? Hell, you and I could make out just fine right now. It's not like you need to go from first kiss with someone to first fuck in like the space of a day."

[Nailah Weaver]

"I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it!" she says quickly. "And I don't mean the... uhm... mechanics." she says, definitely not blushing. "Just... you act one way around guys and another around other girls. I've just always been alright at being me around everybody. I mean I put my underpants over my jeans at the party! But now everything's all weird and I couldn't even get through my exercises without turning into a total spaz."

[Haley Crusek]

"Turning into a complete spaz is usually a sign you're with someone you really like, if my experience is any indication."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Of course I like Onyx." she says before she can think better of actually going into specifics. "She's my friend and my crime-fighting partner!"

[Haley Crusek]

"And you had a hot dream with her?" Haley smirked, though it was really quite a sympathetic expression.

"I mean. It sure sounds like you like her like her to me."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Maybe it was just hot because of the fire. There was a lot of fire!"

[Haley Crusek]

"...girl, you *knew* what I meant when I said a hot dream, and it has nothing to do with fire,"

[Nailah Weaver]

"But I don't actually want to do anything like that! It feels weird and strange."

[Haley Crusek]

"....well. Have you kissed a boy to see if that feels better? Give me about twenty minutes, and I bet I can find a boy who would make out with you. I'm not even kidding."

[Nailah Weaver]

"What? No! I've never kissed anybody. And I don't want to make out with just anybody!"

[Haley Crusek]

"Don't put the kiss up on a pedestal. It's awesome, but like.... If anything, you want your first kiss with someone you really like to be like. Awesome. If you first kiss ever is with someone that you really like, and you've never practiced...I mean...that's like never studying and skipping most of your classes and expecting to do awesome on the final. Make out with someone, or a few someones now with no commitment? It's just like training for a race."

"Different for your first time with other stuff...I mean. Wait for that shit. I wish I had. But making out? Just get some mints and go to town. Making out is amazing."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Are you sure? That sounds like it'd just be kind awkward..."

[Haley Crusek]

"Well, we can have a few drinks to loosen ourselves up if you think it might help--not enough to get sloppy, just enough to....y'know. Relax you. I'll be your wingwoman, we'll find some cute guys, and then, we work our magic," she grinned.

"That or we can try and find some weed. But like...I don't know where the hell you'd even get that here. All my delinquent friends are back in Texas."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Are you sure that's a good idea?" she asks a bit dubiously. Still, Haley seemed to know what she was talking about.

[Haley Crusek]

"It's not a good idea. It's the best idea," she grinned. "We're gonna have a blast, and then whenever you find Mr. Right, you're gonna be like, an amazing kisser because you had a chance to practice."

Haley looked like a kid on Christmas morning, smiling ear to ear. "OMG this is going to be so awesome. I've got to find a cute top to show off what little cleavage I have, and I'm gonna get you something cute too, because Daddy sent me some birthday money early, and you deserve this."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Not that I don't appreciate that, but I don't think you want to lend me any tops." she says, unfolding her wings for a moment.

[Haley Crusek]

"No silly! I'm buying you something for you. We can fix it to fit your wings however we need to."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Seriously!? Wow, thanks, that's really awesome of you."

[Haley Crusek]

"You didn't drop my fat ass when we went flying and you are amazing and so much fun. It's the *least* I can do!

[Nailah Weaver]

"Well alright then." she smiles a bit bashfully. She can't really turn down Haley now, can she.

[Haley Crusek]

Haley grinned and bounded over to her new BFF from her bench and hugged her tightly. "I'll text you, and we'll go shopping this week. Then... I'm thinking Friday night sounds like the perfect night for this. Done with school for the week and ready to party!"

"Yeah, that sounds good."
