DT1 - The Monster Mash

The Estate's meticulously kept gardens, including a hedgemaze that students have occasionally described as "sadistic" and a sizable rose garden. Benches in shaded spots are plentiful, and the gardens are popular to study in on pleasant days. The nearby stables are still maintained with a number of well-heeled equines.

DT1 - The Monster Mash

Postby Archaea » Mon Jul 06, 2015 2:20 am

Archaea is walking through the garden with a small insect cage in one hand. She keeps her eyes peeled and her ears open as she walks through the grass, mainly looking for grasshoppers because they're easiest to find due to announcing their presence more or less constantly. It doesn't take her long and she has a couple collected in her cage. She lifts it up and stares at the with a sigh that falls somewhere between grim and determined.

She walks over to one of the benches and carefully takes off one of her gloves. She reaches into the cage and grabs one of the grasshoppers. Immediately she can feel her power surge out from her and into the insect. Biological structures and tissues flicker through her mind despite her best attempts to shut them out and reign in her power. Beads of sweat appear on her brow as she feels the grasshopper twitch against her palm as it's biological makeup deteriorates. Legs sprout from the creature all over, pushing out between Archaea's fingers before she throws the thing away in disgust. It twitches on the ground in front of her, easily three or four times it's original size with dozens of legs in varying stages of development twitching helplessly. She stands up and stomps down on the creature, grinding it underneath her heel until she's certain it's dead.

"I don't subscribe to that philosophy," Rob says. "You got to take life by the throat. Really wrap your hands around it's neck and choke it, shouting 'how's this for fair, huh? You think this is fair, Life?' Really just torture the shit out life and run weird experiments on its body. Make a life-slash-death monstrosity and laugh in the face of all the fools who thought they were better than you as you lead your army into the heart of Washington!"

Rob pauses, "...Metaphorically speaking."
