DTI: A Small Plot of Earth

[Robert West]

"Humility! That's certainly a virtue," Rob says. "Of course, humility seems a bit pointless when you're standing next to a machine that literally just broke open the universe and stitched it back together..."

[Molly McFly]

"Yeah, there are other words that come to mind there, like menace to society."

[Robert West]

"Society? I just punched a hole in the universe, Molly," Rob says. "I'm a menace to existence. Get some perspective."

"Anyway. That's me. What about you? What are you into?"

[Molly McFly]

"W..what? You know, normal people things. Reading and stuff."

[Robert West]

"Cool," Rob says. "I've heard good things about normal stuff. Lot of people seem into it."

[Molly McFly]

"Yeah, it gets me through the day."

[Robert West]

"Can you hold this?" Rob asks, handing her a clipboard.

[Molly McFly]

"Sure...why?" she asked, taking it.

[Robert West]

"I need you to write down some numbers while I take a few measurements," Rob says.

[Molly McFly]

"Shouldn't you have, like, an assistant to do that?"

[Robert West]

"Good point. You're hired," Rob says.

[Molly McFly]

"Wait, what?"

[Robert West]

"I pay twenty dollars an hour, full health insurance, and paid dead leave," Rob says.

[Molly McFly]

"Wait, 'dead leave'?"

Wait again, I'm not going to be your assistant!"

[Robert West]

"Paid time off if you die during work hours," Rob says. "Until you're reanimated."

"Why not?" Rob asks.

[Molly McFly]

"Because I'm not a crazy person?"

[Robert West]

"Oh, don't worry. I won't hold that against you."

[Molly McFly]

"Yeah, no, if you're looking for someone to die a lot, I'm afraid you'll have to keep looking."

[Robert West]

"Okay," Rob says. "That's fair, I suppose."
