I2: Mean Green Bad

Shane sat under a tree, trying to translate the tune in his head to the strings of his guitar. It didn't sound bad at all, but it was aggravating him anyway. It just wasn't right.

"Why. Won't. You. Work," he muttered.

A left! A left! A right! A left! Shane followed the rapidly receding girl, who always seemed to stay JUST one turn ahead of Shane--no matter how quickly or slowly he'd walk.

The last turn led him to a dead end, with a stone fountain spitting water out into a pool.

What ALSO was gone was...the passageway he had taken to get here. Where he had come in, there was now nothing but hedge.

He also wished he could still just tell the hedge to open up. Instead, he tried again. This time he left a trail of leaves from his hand.

This time, he was SURE he was going straight--nothing but straight, ignoring turns.

...And he ended up back at the same dang fountain.

Occasionally he heard giggling, but he couldn't localize it.

The trail of leaves certainly followed him...but he could also see the beginning of the trail dead ahead. Somehow, without turning, he had made a complete circle.

With a shimmer, Shane's reflection in the pool changed to a VERY attractive and VERY nude young woman--one Shane had never seen before.

She giggled, and looked away.

Everything SEEMED alright--he took some turns that seemed like the ones he took to get in, at any rate...it led him to an iron gate and, presumably, the exit of the hedge maze.

A wave of nausea and vertigo would hit him, and his vision would fog up, as the quad outside squirmed and twisted--and suddenly, he would find himself somewhere else.

And he was wet. And hot and steamy. Had he just entered a shower stall?

Where staring at him, with a look of rage, was Molly McFly, halfway through washing her hair.
