I2 - One For Himself, One For Me Too

Out in the open, where the sun could tax her ability to keep things together, Theresa seemed to be sparring against one of her ice creatures. They countered back and forth, though moving slowly as she both had to move herself and animate the creature to respond. It was proving to be quite the workout.

"That's kind of the point. Working all the muscles right now. How're you doing, Haley?" She ducked under a swing from the ice figure before lashing out with one foot to sweep, which the ice creature just ignored, letting the foot slide through the ice as if it were liquid water.

"I meant hard like...you know what it's going to do and it knows what you're going to do. Y'know?" Haley said, arms crossed and observing from what seemed to be a safe distance away. She was wearing running shorts and a black tank top and had her phone strapped into an arm band, trying to get some sun on what she was sure was going to be the last unseasonably warm days, and even then, the mid 70s was a far cry from Texas.

"Same stuff different day though. Really excited, though. Birthday is next week. I am going to get so wasted."

"Getting wasted is overrated," she said, blocking a series of blows from the ice creature. "Best to just get pleasantly buzzed so you can still enjoy the evening rather than just passing out."

"It was really satisfying, especially after getting kicked in the stomach several times," she smirked. "But I figure I get a bit better at preventing assholes from ever hitting me in the first place, then I have less bruises, and less distraction so I can keep making the boys sing soprano."

Haley unstrapped her phone running band from her arm and gently floated it some distance away with her TK. "Yeah. Why not. Just do it here?"

"Alright," she grinned, dropping into a defensive stance that they'd been shown in some of the crash self-defense courses that X-23 held during team practice. The guard was too high, and it would be easy to get her right in the stomach.

"So how many Frozen jokes have you gotten so far this year," she teased.

Haley took the offered hand and pulled herself up. "Alright. So more like this then?" she asked, modifying her guard to something much more passable, though she was now mostly looking at her own guard instead of paying attention to Tereza.

Haley clearly telegraphed her next move, a low uppercut aimed at her opponent's mid-section.

Tereza grabbed Haley's wrist and used the punch's momentum to spin Haley around before wrapping an arm around her neck. "Break loose," she instructed.

Haley tugged down on Tereza's chokehold with one hand to keep it from getting any tighter and then tried to elbow backwards into her midsection with her other hand, and gently tried to place her foot on top of Tereza's.

"If this were real," she said, "I would have stomped as hard as I could have on your foot."
