Nailah is stomping through the grass in the gardens between the manor and the Rec Center, phone pressed to her ear.

"I didn't... No Dad, I just... I didn't think you'd hear about it."

"Yeah well maybe checking the Maldon Bugle website everyday is kinda weird when you live in Arizona."

"Sorry..."

"No, I was protecting people!"

"I made it myself."

"Okay, yes, but..."

"That's not fair!"

"But I'm helping people!"

"Only for another month."

"Fine then!"

"I love you to." She angrily jabs her thumb on the 'disconnect call' button.

"Yeah. I mean... It's not like I'm just doing it for fun and glory. There's some responsibility too, right? Like, protecting people from things like those Imps, cause they can't do it themselves." she says. She's not exactly lieing, she does think that she's following a noble call to action, but on some level she is doing it for the excitement and the hope for fame.

Tereza tilted her head, "There's a certain school of thought that people who can't protect themselves from that sort of thing don't deserve our time. I'm not sure I buy it." More like you aren't sure you're renewing your subscription.

When the first step comes out as 'Go back out in costume tonight' she grins broadly. The fact that the whole path is over a hundred steps doesn't register with her as probably being a pretty long-term thing right now. "Easy-peasy."
