Will walked a slow circle around Sam as she shifted.

"Powerful, yeah? Quad muscles for days."

But I can see why you'd not like it for lounging around town," Will nodded. "Maybe you should do something with your hair," she teased.

"...guess that would be a bit more me," she admits with a toothy smirk.

She concentrates for a moment, closing her eyes. Soon, wild red locks push forth from her form's head where her scalp would normally be, tumbling down her back in a mane.

"Better?"

"These don't quite come with arch support," she says, leaning against a tree and holding up a monstrous foot, wiggling her toes.

"Yeah. You're gonna have a hard time keeping up with people if you can't get that under control," she said, crouching to look at Sam's feet.

She tests her weight from foot to foot, her tail trying to compensate.

You can't catch me. I'm the gingerbread man," Will laughed.

Then, she scooped up Sam's shed clothes, and started SPRINTING into the forest, weaving between trees.

"Oh, you little..."

"You asked for it!" She calls after Will.

She starts lumbering after him, but her balance is shaky when she tries to move faster, leading her to lean on a tree or two to steady herself.

"Gotta give you some motivation, yeah?" she called back over her shoulder, leaping over a tree stump and turning on the jets.

She stumbles a bit, but soon figures out that running on all fours is decidedly easier. Soon, she's galloping after Will full-pelt.

As for Will, she TOO had gone onto all-fours---or, rather, had shifted into a rather impressive, ten-point buck, with Sam's clothes rakishly perched on his antlers, as he continued to try to gain distance.

Sam was certainly faster, so Will tried to maintain the distance by careful weaving and changes of direction.

She grunts as she has to weave through the trees.

Will was running out of ground--she didn't want to head right back onto campus. After all, that's why Sam had come out to the woods, right? Plus, it was so much...better out in the wild.

Instead, she tried to make a sharp cut and double-back, heading for the outer wall of the campus...IF she could slip past Sam.

Sam skids, claws digging into the ground as she has to reverse direction. Limbs tensing, she makes a leap for Will as he passes.

A hit! A palpable hit! Sam's claws graze against Will's flank as she tries to dart by, opening up a bit of a gash, causing Will to stumble and lose speed, but not quite fall down...

If she could just make it to the wall, she might be able to clear it--or, at least, shift into something that could.

Will was ALMOST at the wall, and shifted, first back into human form, and then into a raven as she tried to clear the final gap...

Sam tries for a running leap and a tackle. Granted, Will's a small target, but she's a big catcher's mitt.

It may not make ESPN's Top 10 Most Graceful Tackles, but the bird was hers, as they landed with a hard *thump* on the forest floor.

"Uncle! Uncle!" Will laughed.

Sam's shaggy form lands in a tumble, rolling a short distance before sprawling on her back.

"...bloody hell," she pants.
