After informing Ashlie about Will Miriam is kind of aimlessly wandering around the estate, unsure of what to do with herself and desperately trying not to dwell on all the things that have gone wrong thanks to her.

"There you are," comes a familiar voice from behind.

"Sorry, sorry, didn't mean to say that..."

"...having a bit of trouble with brain-to-mouth."

"Sam." she says a little hesitantly. "Sorry about... that."

"It's... it's okay. I'm okay."

"And you helped put Will right."

"I still can't shift."

"Yeah, this looks completely fine and Will was just overjoyed."

"He just told me to go.

"Apparently he's reeling from all the memories."

"Figures, it's what he asked for."

"Should have just stayed out of it... Either Will would still be blissfully unaware or at least you wouldn't have gotten all screwed up."

"I was already messed up, Miriam."

"It's... something I'll have to deal with, but it's not an emergency."

"It's a royal pain in the arse."

"This would be more convincing if you could make up your mind about it yourself. Messed up or not, I made it worse. I mean look at yourself. Selves."

"I'm still me. Really."

"I'm always me."

"I'm just having trouble... reconciling."

"I split you in three. Doesn't matter if there was a fracture before, I shouldn't have taken a sledgehammer to it."

"Well it could be... worse, aye?"

"Though I'm not sure how."

"I was able to put myself together before, there has to be a way to do it again."

"Is that why you came running after me? To get me to try and fix this?"

"No, no, I wanted to make sure you're alright!"

"...though the thought crossed my mind."

"You don't need to feel obligated."

"I do but thanks for drawing attention to it." she starts with the last head before going on to the red-haired one. "And you really don't want me screwing you up worse than I already did." She seems pretty worked up but when she gets to the last head it just kind of fizzles out into a defeated. "Thanks, I guess."

"I just thought... you know, being in my head turned out to not be pleasant for you."

"Which begs the question as to why you keep going back there."

"I can handle it on my own, really."

"Don't worry, it won't happen again." she harshly informs the middle head.

"Maybe I should just... go."

"Oh come on!"

"I'm... Sorry, Miriam. I didn't mean to upset you."

There's a number of things that go through Miriam's head that she wants to throw at Sam right now, first and foremost something about mixed signals, but she can't really bring herself to actually say that to the woman who literally has three heads thanks to her. "Look, just... I'm fine, okay? I'm not good with people despite the fact that I should be at an advantage. I reached into your head and pulled this to the surface the way I thought it should be. It clearly worked too well, because it's not really agreeing with you..." she sighs.

"It's just... embarrassing. You shouldn't have to hear this."

"You shouldn't have to hear this because it's pathetic that I'm fishing for sympathy."

"...I'll leave you alone," all three heads say in unison, having finally found something to agree on.

"How is this embarrassing? Would you be embarrassed about a bloody nose if somebody punched you in the face?"

"It's embarrassing because all of this just comes out. It's embarrassing because I can't control it. Head to mouth, no bloody filters," she continues, her heads still in agreement.

"It's refreshingly honest?" she tries to helpfully supply but realizes how lame of a silver lining that is halfway through. "If it makes you feel any better, I could pick up on that if I wanted anyway." That probably wasn't any better.

"Not. The. Point." All three faces are starting to show some strain right now from speaking in unison.

"Are you sure? Because it seems to be working. You all seem pretty equally pissed right now."

"Aye, but..." She pauses, the gazes of all three heads going distant.

"...something's wrong."

"You don't say."

"No, no, not this... something shouldn't be here."

She grits her teeth, and her form trembles. Beaks start to press out from the skin of her shoulders.

"Whoa, what the bloody hell? What's going on?"

"...a battle."

"An impossible battle."

"That's not what I'm talking about. Your shoulders, Sam." she says, pointing at the beaky protrusions.

"They... they want out. They have to witness."

The beaks push out further into black feathered heads, then wings, and finally about a half-dozen ravens break free from Sam, flapping off towards Maldon.

She's starting to look unsteady on her feet.

"What the fuck!" Miriam takes a couple staggering steps back, looking a little revolted. "Are... are you alright?"

"I... I don't know," she admits, all three sets of eyes still unfocused.

"You should go to the infirmary! Birds you came out of you!"

"I can't... I can't stop them," she says, wobbling a bit again.

"They know where to go."

"Wait, you're telling me you can still feel them?" she asks, finally stepping up to steady Sam.

"Their eyes are my eyes. In the harbor, in town..."

"What the hell are you doing, Sam? This is not the time to get even more creative!"

"I can't... I can't help it, Miriam. It's like I can't keep my eyes off it."
