It was such a nice day! Shame to waste it indoors.

Cam was pulling a wagon filled with a rather absurd collection of electrical gadgets and circuits down towards the open quad area. This was probably fine and totally permitted.

Shari, in her ratty coat and holding a clipboard, spots him dragging his stuff from the dorms and follows after him, eventually catching up to him on the grounds.

"Hey Doctor Crazy-Pants." she says, walking over. Aside from her clothes she looks like a completely different person than the last time they met, safe for the markings under her eyes. Her voice is more or less the same at least.

"You need any help with that?" she asks. On some level she's telling herself that she's helping Cam because she enjoys having a roof over her head, but another, more quiet part is pointing out that maybe, just maybe, she's keeping an eye on him so he doesn't blast the school into orbit. On accident or as an experiment.

"Now this is literally just roadie work." she says, walking over to the cart, her upper body significantly bulking up, noticeable even under her coat. She grabs the sub-woofers by their handles, one with each hand, and carries them to where Cam had pointed. "Are you sure we're not just setting up for a concert?"

"Like... Insults being rude? I dunno." she says. Of all the things she'd thought Cam might ask her to do, explaining basic human courtesy wasn't one of them. And she also wasn't entirely sure if she was the right person for that particular job.

"Well, the rules here are already different. It's OK to throw people out of rooms, and they don't lock you in at night. Definitely very different.

The headmistress seems OK. Didn't send me back to Muir or anywhere like that. That's suspicious."

That explains a lot. Well, a little. Cam had one thing right though, this place was confusing in what it wants to be.

"You know what, maybe you are right, this place is kinda weird after all. Let's do this!" she decides and goes to see if she can find the cables to hook up the sub-woofers.

He carefully cut the wire at what presumably was a measured length, and very carefully sellotaped it to Shari's throat. Whether that was out of concern for the wires or the throat remained an open question.
