A Normal Lunch Where Nothing Will Happen

Though many students might prefer going to London, Maldon provides closer amenities for those without a car or unwilling to pay for a cab. Several pubs are available, though the Rose and Crown is notable for having been where Excalibur spent a good deal of their downtime. Also of note is the Plume Library, home to many rare books.

Naku watched the dog move through it. 'Yeah, that's gotta be Will,' he thought how to best get over it. He had to use his legs he figured, especially with how to catch up with the hound. Quickly as he could, he put all his chi in his legs and jumped , reaching the top enough to stand on it before hopping over. He wasn't able to run like normal. his arms were out behind him like a running ninja as he tried to catch up with Will.

Will kept going, approaching a drain pipe on the side of a building on the corner of the alley, and shrinking down even further -- a plump rat, squeezing its way inside the hole and shimmying up -- successfully, if the sound of the pinging and banging inside the pipe was anything to go by.

"Are you trying to get struck by lightning? I'm usually pretty relaxed but I could oblige," he said, threat beneath his friendly facade. He demonstrated by throwing a coin into the air and directing a bolt into it. It fell back to the ground charred and glowing hot. "I'd just assume not, wouldn't you?"

Naku caught up, just in enough time to see Will shrink and go up. Hot damn, his power was adaptable. Naku looked around, trying to see if there was anything that could get him where it seemed Will was going. Fire escapes, doorways... As he thought, he already felt his chi redistribute through his body. No more strong legs soon, he needed a moment to rest. He looked around and listened, trying to see if there was any sight of who they were after.

"Eh, I don't feel like breaking yer face today," Chaz said, with a shrug. Sure, Chaz. That's the reason you don't want to get into a fight with the giant lightning-caster.

Going up would tough for a normal person, as it'd be quite the leap to the fire escape. It was certainly doable, however, either with chi-enhanced legs or, like, dragging something over to stand on. The latter would take longer, but certainly was possible.

That being said, as Naku's chi redistubited, he could hear footsteps. Not coming from up where Will was going, but around the corner, on the other side of the alley from where they came in -- and possibly gradually slowing down?

Thrax made a grunt that essentially translated to "Yeah, sure buddy." He, at least, no longer felt the need to compare any measurements of manliness, having decided he had already won. "Or I yours"

All that was left was to wait for Naku and Will.

He looked up, but by that time he already knew he wasn't bounding up anywhere. At hearing foot steps, he pressed his back to the wall behind a dumpster or something obstructing him from view. he didn't have time to check, he needed to listen.

The footsteps came from a rapidly slowing down Davey, sure that anyone following him from the Thai place would have long given up the chase by now. He turned the corner back into the alley, doubling back on his footsteps, unaware Naku was waiting there.

Hearing the footsteps, Naku immediately wished he knew how to activate his whole body for power. maybe he needed to scream about it like Sayans. Now wasn't the time to practice. He waited for the person to pass him. When he realized it was Davey, he delivered a punch with regular strength, aiming for his face, but willing to hit anything.

Davey wasn't exactly prepared for someone to randomly take a shot at him! Naku's punch connected, staggering Davey bag several steps and causing him to drop his duffel. He sword, trying to regain his composure before Naku could come in for a second swing...

Naku also swore, albeit mentally. He wasn't exactly a fan of using his craft, but he had to at least put the man in a chick hold. He got closer with the full intent of looping an arm around the mans throat to try an hold him.

If only Thrax was here.

"Hey, I just want to talk!" he said, looking very much like such was not the case unfortunately. "i had to slow you down. The punch was the only way I thought of. My bad," he said, wondering if the other would let him talk.

Davey shoved Naku in the chest, trying to buy some space between them. It might have worked, for a moment.

...If it wasn't for a wild green-haired person leaping down from the roof, landing with their two bare feet square on Davey's back, sending him to the ground. They remained perched on top, squatting over Davey with their head cocked to one side.

"Now, now, that's not how we start a conversation, is it? I find a nice 'hello, my name is,' gets things off to a much finer start. Why don't you try again with my friend here?" they said. "We'll give you marks and feedback and the whole lot this time. Always room for improvement, I say!"

'Oh thank god,' he got out as someone else took over handling Davey. His own hand rubbed his chest, but Naku could deal with the pain. What was most strange was the man with the mess of green hair who just appeared.

He listened to the taller, possibly older man. 'Friend'? Was he talking about Naku, or Davey? Surely he wouldn't kick his own friend to the ground now, would he? After a few moments of confusion, Naku approached, listening to see if Davey would say anything. Still, a new question burned in his mind.

"Who are you?" he asked the new coming, wondering, just wondering.... '...is this Will?'

"Oh, getting deep and philosophical right off the bat, I like it. Who am I? Who are any of us? Where are we going, and will there be lunch provided along the way? These are the questions you should be asking, Naku my boy, and don't anyone tell you different."

Maximum confusion. Should he be asking himself that question right this moment. "Yeah, maybe not right now though," he said, looking to Davey. Was he even concious? "Thanks for helpin' with this guy. We think he's a drug dealer of some kind, pushing things on metas," he stated before fishing out his phone. "I should let Thrax know where we're at," he stated while the phone dialed his suite mate.

He then paused, looking to the man. "Wait. How did you know my name?"

It took him an awkward moment to use the phone interface with his clawed fingers but the alien figured it out. He can operate a starship, dang it. This shouldn't be that difficult.

"Nak! Just who I hoped would be my first caller!" he answered too loudly. "So, is Davey going to cooperate?"

Davey did appear to be conscious, though any responses he gave at this point would be muffled by the green-haired thing pressing his face into the asphalt.

"Nak! Just who I hoped would be my first caller!" The first? Naku was stuck by confusion before realizing the alien hadn't been on Earth long. It was nice Thrax had hoped that it'd be him. What a nice friend! Before any question passed, a new one came. "So, is Davey going to cooperate?"

"Well, ya see..." He looked over to the green haired one, listening as his own eyes went to the face ground to the pavement.

"...Things that are, and things that aren't, and things that were but never were. In this case, however, you told me before and you'll tell me again."

"Right," he said to the Will before leaning to the phone again to talk to Thrax. "Well, we have him. With a Will. I think it's... some form of him. Does Clay age? Wait. Nevermind that. Daveys pinned, but I'm not sure what else to do," he stated, looking to the Wyldclay, also directing the conversation at him. "I'm no law enforcer and i have no idea what to ask him," he admitted.

"Yeah, you can't swing a wet Vertis without hitting a Will around here," the alien laughed as Naku mentioned another Will, using a Crocutan expression out of habit. Not the best idea with an audience.

"The way I see it, you can either bring him here or we can come to you. Relaying their conversation would just be exhausting."

Yeah, Naku had no idea what a Vertis was, but he didn't dwell on it. After listening to Wyll for a moment, he gave a nod and responded to Thrax. "Yeah, best you come here. You, alone, if possible. We don't need them duking it out. I'll send our location," he said before sharing his details to Thrax's. While he had no clue where he was other than an alley, GPS knew. "....Did you get it okay?"
