The place Wanda had picked was nice enough and the manicurists were nice enough not to say anything about Isolde's nails. A hairdresser in the place even offered to try and tame her hair a bit. She seemed to take it as some sort of challenge. Wanda watched with some amusement as Isolde went through all this. Finally, the torture was through and they stepped out of establishment. "Now... was that so bad?"

"I think you had more fun than I did, but I suppose it was tolerable," Isolde says as she steps out.

"No, no exes," Wanda says, opting not to mention that 'girlfriend' that everyone seemed to think she used to have. "What do you get for the werewolf who has everything?"

"Well, we started with the makeover, and I believe I promised you a drink." She loops her arm through Isolde's and begins walking towards the Rose & Crown. "And you shouldn't sell yourself short like that."

"But that's probably better discussed over drinks if you really do want to know."

"Drinks then," Wanda says, keeping quiet until they were in the Rose and seated at a table with their drinks.

She nods, "I realize you didn't explicitly say 'I want to be a werewolf'."

"I was the one caught kissing the burgomaster's daughter in the barn."

"Greta. And because she was the burgomaster's daughter, and I was only the miller's daughter, then of course I was the one who bewitched her to act unnaturally."

Wanda frowns, "I hate that 'it's unnatural' skitprat. I suppose it was a different time, but that doesn't make it any less contemptible." She takes a deep breath, "So you were turned into an ultimate survivor."

"It wasn't until much later I realized all the stories the dwarf was in."

Wanda suddenly looks at her sharply, "Dwarf?" The way she says the word, she's not asking for idle clarification.

"In the modern context, they do. People like their 'heroes' to win. People got tired of being reminded that darkness can just as easily consume light as be chased away by it." There's a slight crackle along the fingertips of her right hand and she shakes it away. Apparently remembering the dwarf stirred up something.

"Well, he's never actually offered, but I'll consider myself warned." She finishes her drink and signals for another one. She breathes out a sigh. "So I take it the price was significantly higher than a monthly full moon bender."

"When I put a wolf in someone, they usually aren't up to that challenge. One way or another, they disappoint. But all the same I haven't stopped. Perhaps that does say something about me and lost causes."

"Good to know," Wanda says with a hint of amusement. "I don't honestly believe I'm a lost cause. Hopeless in other ways maybe, but not a lost cause."
