Get Your Drink On! We Can Be Who We Like!

Though many students might prefer going to London, Maldon provides closer amenities for those without a car or unwilling to pay for a cab. Several pubs are available, though the Rose and Crown is notable for having been where Excalibur spent a good deal of their downtime. Also of note is the Plume Library, home to many rare books.

Shari's dragged into town by a very insistent Will until they make their way to the Rose and Crown. They'd probably recognize Will from earlier. Question is whether or not that occurs to the drunk Clay-Ball.

A lot of people recognized Will. He was the leader of the X-Men and had appeared in multiple commercials. Once even as himself! He paid it little to no mind.

He even saddled up to the exact same seat he had been in previously, before Tereza had ended their drinking session. Old habits, I suppose.

"Right! They might have a karaoke machine hidden somewhere here, too, so this'll be perfect."

"I do like the karaoke." Shari nods, looking up and down the bar. She's been to the one in the XUB, but that one was... newer, cleaner. This one had more wood everywhere that was a little worn down where peoples' hands had brushed over it thousands of times. It felt more comfortable, in a way.

"With the help from the CDs I gave you, you might even become good at it," he said, teasing, elbowing her in the ribs perhaps a little harder than he intended.

The bartender stared the two of them down, disapprovingly -- but for the moment, did nothing.

"Alright, the both of you had better clear out. Out you go, now."

"It's a game. You've got this litttletinytinytiny ball inside a machine, with all sorts of bumpers and things to try to hit, in order to score points. And the machine is slanted, so the ball keeps rolling back towards you -- and if it reaches you, your turn is up. But you have little flippers that you can use to hit the ball back up, ka-plooie, back into the field of play to hit more things and get more points.

And then you drink beer," he added, staggering out.

The barkeep frowned, and went back towards his bar, reaching for the phone as the two left.

The door slams shut behind them and we smash-cut to two pints of beer being set down on a different bar. Shari grabs one of them and gives it a curious sniff before emptying the whole thing down her throat. Adaptive biology could be very convenient at times. Such as slamming a pint of beer and letting out an impressive burp.

Will fishes around in his pockets for a pound coin.

He did not find one.

Shrugging, he walked over to the coin slot, pressing his finger up against it, while whistling totally nonchalantly. A moment later, everything lit up and starting binging and banging.

"Nah, ok. You're gonna get...I think three goes. I think that's how this one's gonna work. See that little ball there, in the chute? When you pull the plunger, it's gonna shoot up to the top of the machine and start bouncing on things. You just gotta keep it up there and not let it go aaaaalllll the way down past the bumpers, kk?"

"Seems simple enough." she concludes and pulls the plunger to send the ball bouncing and chiming inside. "It's like... geometry but not boring!" she says as she wildly wobbles the flippers around, keeping the ball up more on accident than with any intent.

"That's hard!" she exclaims, more or less ignoring the noise complaints they're getting. She figures if somebody puts such a noisy and brightly flashing machine in their business they want people to use it. It doesn't help that in her attempts to get the ball where she wants it to go she ends up dropping it even faster than the first one. "Nooo, that's less balls. That's the opposite of what I wanna do!"
