The jig is up

[Emilie]

Emilie had more or less gathered a plan to try to con the young man who sold her the Vespa into talking to her.

She first gave him a call, hoping he'd pick up.

[Narrator]

He picked up almost immediately with an exasperated sigh.

"Look, if this is about the listing for the Blur vinyl, they're not for sale. My fiance put them on Craigslist without asking me."

[Emilie]

"Heeeeyyy!" Emilie replied in a friendly sort of a tone one uses with their besties.

"Just the man I wanted to speak to. About the bike I bought off you, not records. Those you can keep."

[Narrator]

"Oh! Sorry, everybody that's called this mobile has been asking about Craigslist shite."

"Which ah... suppose you are too?"

[Emilie]

"Kinda yea." She laughed.

"Don't worry, no complaints. I just found something in it I thought you might want back." Emilie replied.

[Narrator]

"Really? I don't think I'm missing anything, but getting ready for the wedding has been a blur."

[Emilie]

"It's cool man. You wanna meet me somewhere to pick it up?"

[Narrator]

"I gotta be honest with you, it might defuse a... delicate situation with the future missus if I know what I'll be bringing home, yeah?"

[Emilie]

"I dunno what it is." She replied in earnest.

A ghost? She probably shouldn't say that.

"But it's small and honestly if you decide it's not anything you want you can bin it when you see it, right?"

[Narrator]

"I guess I could meet you in the same parking lot if you like on the weekend. Or a coffee shop if you'd rather sit down."

[Emilie]

"Parking lot will suffice. " She decided. In case this dude was in some way connected to Ace's death, cornering him a coffee shop was a bad idea.

[Narrator]

"Right. Around noon on Saturday sound good?"

[Emilie]

"Sounds good dude, see ya then."
