Emilie arrived slightly early with her compatriots in tow. She wasn't really sure what to expect. Killers were old news, but murderous biker gangs was a new one.

While they waited, she pulled out her vaporizer and joined the nation to get her nicfix and keep her nerves calm.

Sean wasn't entirely sure what to expect. Was it going to be a murderer? Accidental posession of a possessed bike? Victim of some... other kind? He'd dressed in normal clothes aside from his long coat. He'd hidden some reagents in various pockets in case they needed something bright, flashy, and violent.

"Maybe I should've brought my staff," Sean mused idly while they waited. He looked tired and little missed, which probably made him look like he belonged in some noir detective film or book about magical private eyes.

Seeing the cloud of vapor rise around Emilie's head, Victor reached into the breast pocket of his blazer and fished out his cigarette case. He tapped out a white-filtered, bandless cigarette and brought it to his lips, cupping his hands around the end as he lit it. With that sorted he sat on one of the nearby bollards with one foot pressed against the side. If only they had a black and white camera, they could have been an album cover.

"You should get a collapsable one. Less conspicuous when takin' the bus."

"Not a bad idea," Sean said, "Metal holds enchantments better than wood anyways."

The familiar well-worn pickup truck pulls into the parking lot of Morrisons Market. Cutting the engine, a young man who looks to be in his twenties steps out, his dark hair in a Caesar cut.

"Huh wasn't expecting a party," he says as he spots Emilie.

"A girl can't move alone, not even in Maldon.

But you know my friend Slick from last time, and this is my new friend." She pointed at Sean, and would let him give his own name if he wanted.

"Harry," Sean said nodding in greeting. He didn't really feel like handing his name out to people possibly connected to a possessed bike.

Victor gave a little wave but for the most part appeared disinterested. They were going to ask the guy about some pretty heavy stuff, and being faced with a 3 on 1 positioning right from the beginning wasn't going to calm the guy's nerves any more.

"So what's this mystery thing that fits under the seat? Because I honestly can't remember leaving anything in it."

Emilie held out a tire pressure gauge.

"Do you recognize this?"

Victor slowly slipped down from sitting on the bollard to just leaning against it, hands in his coat pockets.

"You telling me you never checked your tire pressure before?" He quirks a brow.

"You can keep it if you want. I can show you how to use it."

"Nah, man. I know what it is.

I'm just using this as a pretense to get you out here so I can ask how you gotta dead guy in your bike.

I guess actually my bike. How you got a dead guy in my bike."

"...wait, what?" The man blinks in confusion.

"Your little electrical problem? It wasn't. Couldn't find anything wrong with the damn thing....

What I did find wrong was the damn bike kept taking off on its own, and my new friend here?

Well Harry's psychic-" close enough... "- and he says a ghost is doing it. A ghost who says he got in an accident with a dude addicted to hair grease.

"No? I mean... I knew it was... temperamental." He hedges.

"But ghosts? Are you winding me up?"

"I really don't know why I would be. Ain't got any reason to.

We're gonna need you to answer some questions so we can figure out who's.

You run him off the road Bryl?"

"I've never run anyone off the road. I bought the Vespa secondhand. Fellow down by the pier. Does refurbished ones."

"Interesting....

You mind showing us a picture of your lady friend? Just to confirm."

The young man sighs, and pulls out his wallet, holding out a picture of his fiance.

"She's the reason I had to get rid of it. It started getting... funny when I started dating her."

The woman in the picture certainly doesn't look like the one Sean saw in the vision.

"... you know, that does make more sense. I mean, if I bumped someone off into the drink, I probably wouldn't take their bike and try to sell it. But if I had a business by the dock and FOUND a bike...."

"Might be we need to follow up withe the fellow by the pier and maybe our good friend can tell us which fellow that is," Sean suggested.

"It's been ages. I bought it when I was in sixth form. He might still be fixing them up though. Cooper's."

"Thanks. We'll go check it out if no one else has any questions?" She asked of her cohorts.

Victor shook his head. "Naw, I think we've already made ourselves sound crazy enough."

"Thanks for the help mate. Sorry to drag you out here under false pretenses but somehow I doubt you'd have taken me seriously if I said we were ghosthunting.

"But on the plus side, you've now got a story for your groomsmen about how you owned a haunted moped. Good luck my dude."

Emilie summoned them a ride and they were off to the pier.

The Wizard, the Miscreat and the Misfit made an odd trio squished into the back of a LTI TX4.

"This would make a great sitcom," Sean said idly as they sat in the back of the car.

Victor snuffed his cigarette out before tossing it in a bin and got into the back of the taxi with the others.

"So the plan is to go to the shop and... ask what exactly?"

"Ain't worked that out yet Slick. Part of life is thinking on the fly, sometimes.

I'll come up with something." She adds, the.piercings on her lips wringing strangely as she chewed on the inside if her lip.

"One of us could snoop around while somebody else distracts Cooper or whoever the mechanic is," Sean suggested. "Some spells can be cast without the chanting and reality stretching."

"Snooping huh?" Vic muttered softly. "Huh, who do we know who can do somethin' like that."

"I think Sean might have been suggesting himself being hes magic and you're tiny." She clarified.

"I can definitely distract."

"Damn straight you can. We've got a veritable heist on our hands."

"Let's hope it goes better than first heists usually do," Sean smirked.

Emilie had the trio dropped off a bit away from the pier so their target didn't see them coming. As they got out of the cab, she turned to Vic after paying the driver.

"Hitching in my bag tinylike so you can help Sean?"

"Sure, I rarely get a chance to actually use my schtick."

Victor looked around for a moment to make sure the coast was clear before he took Emilie's hand in his and positioned it palm outstretched. With his hand on hers he did a little hop, like he was using her hand to help him push himself higher to reach something and it's just a little too high for you to lift your leg to stand on. But as soon as he was off the ground he rapidly dwindled in size so that he landed in her palm, legs criss-cross applesauce. It'd be rather impressive, if it was a more impressive powerset.

Emilie smiled at the tiny man, and opened the flap to her hip pouch to allow him to climb in.

"Shall we go in alone? You wanna scout the outside magic man?"

Sean looked impressed as Victor shrank and then climbed into Emilie's pouch.

"Yeah, I can take a look around see if anybody's been imprisoning ghosts in things or some other kind of magical shenanigans," Sean said as if it was the most normal thing.
