X-Men: Mutatis Mutandis

Though many students might prefer going to London, Maldon provides closer amenities for those without a car or unwilling to pay for a cab. Several pubs are available, though the Rose and Crown is notable for having been where Excalibur spent a good deal of their downtime. Also of note is the Plume Library, home to many rare books.

Byrna Cooper wrote:Bear bounced off a wall, changing direction quickly while tossing a glue ball at the charging foe.

The glue ball worked wonders, keeping the vampire stuck for now. That gave Bear a choice of targets going forward, as she was unmolested for the moment.

Sara Stanton wrote:As the two vampires get knocked to the side Sara slides her foot on the ground and the wall she erected comes tumbling down on top of the stumbling vampires.

"Holy hell, remind me not to piss you off in the future," Will said, watching his future wife destroy past vampires.

Miranda Weaver wrote:
Miranda catches the blow on her shoulder, the loud pop of a dislocating joint drowned out by her cry of pain as she goes tumbling back over a table, which pops her shoulder back into place somehow. She doesn't advance on her opponent though. Instead she balls up all that pain and shares it with them.

That caused the vampires around her to screech in agony, holding on to their heads as the psychic attack hits home.

And lo, as it turned out, magic was stronger than genetic mutation. Ideally, this spell probably wasn't done while a vampire was nearly on top of him, and his suit might need a good cleaning after the mission, but the vampire did, indeed, pull a Lot's Wife on him.

It took a moment for Sean to disentangle himself from a vampire worth of salt.

"Not doing that aain," Sean muttered brushing salt off his uniform.

He got to his feet just as another wave of vampires poured down the stairs. He pushed his hands out towards the stairs and chanted something and the staircase began to twist and churn, clawed hands formed and reached out to pull vampires into one of dozens of mouths that began to form as the staircase appeared to become a very angry and hungry possessed demonic piece of furniture.

Trev's shout knocked them off-path, but another Vampire grabbed him, slamming into (and through) a wall. Trev went sprawling into the backstage area, right into the collective laps of a bunch of half-dressed ladies of the establishment were taking shelter. The vampire followed.

Trev groaned in pain from the trip through the wall, but looked up to see several beautiful and barely-clothed women

He blinked a few times and then did a double take before the snarling advancing vampire re-captured his attention. He had to protect these women!

Trev scrambled to his feet and took a deep breath to let out another shout at the advancing creature.

Some of the vampires were, in fact, gotten! Others jumped over and were charging Sean, looking to make him pay.

The fact that the X-Teams might need to go up that staircase in the future was a problem for future Sean.

The pillar is enough to give Miranda a jumping-off-point, keeping the vampires away from her at the moment.

It gets her to eye-level with the VIP area, where Jezebelle is sitting, guarding the device they came to deactivate.

Chase was doing his best to fight off the fauxpires that came his way but he seemed to be pulling his punches. No arrow hit anything vital and his martial arts strikes were likewise stunted by his fear of killing. But he was making his way to a firing position on the device.

The X-Men appeared to be routing the vampires, sending them hither and yon with abandon.

That's when Jezebelle stood up.

"Well, then. I suppose it's time for Phase Two," she said, pulling out a small device and casually tossing it downstairs.

It emitted a high-pitched sonic pulse, designed to make it very, very, very difficult for anyone in the vicinity to think straight.

Phase two made Sean rather confused the magical energy he'd gathered needed an outlet, but he found himself unable to give the spell shape and so in order to not burn to a crisp he released the magic energy a bit haphazardly towards some of the remaining vampires in a wave of force that changed colors and caused tables and chairs to twist into shapes only madness could bring.

Sean was, uh, not going to catch up easily to a fleeing superhuman vampire by chasing it across rooftops. He drew a circle on the wall and used Miranda's information about Jezzebelle's location to pick a destination.

"We walk wraithlike through the winding way between qorlds," Sean chanted as he cut himself then drew one last symbol on the wall focusing on his intensed destination. He pulled his hands apart and ripped an angry tear between dimensions to step through hopefully landing where Jezzebelle was about to be or at least not far behind.

"Oh, bollocks," Sean said seeing a vampire about to hit him. He activated his shield enchantment out of reflex since well being run over by a super powered vampire was probably bad for ones health and the NHS wasn't what it used to be. A barrier of energy sprung into life between Sean and Jezebelle, but it was likely going to end with Sean on his back because of momentum and maybe a headache for the vampire if she hit it head on.

Jezebelle did hit the barrier head on, which would send Sean to the floor, hard.

The energy shield did kick in, knocking Jez to the floor. She dropped the device she was carrying, which went skittering across the roof.

That would give Bear and the rest of the X-Men the chance to catch up.

His shout blasted the charging vampire back into the remains of the wall he'd been thrown through hard, and knocked the thing out cold. Trev kicked it in the stomach for good measure, and then looked back at the barely clothed women still cowering, and nodded awkwardly.

"...pardon me, ladies," he cleared his throat, "gotta...you know... go get the bad girl"

Trev didn't seem to be bothered much by the sonic device when it went off--benefits of having ears capable of resisting the noise your own voice can make--so he took off into a jog and then screamed to propel himself through the air over the vampires swarming the stairs just in time to see her making a break for it out the window. His scream changed tune a bit and it rocketed forward and out the window after the vampire, arriving in time to see her slam into Sean's shield.
