Though many students might prefer going to London, Maldon provides closer amenities for those without a car or unwilling to pay for a cab. Several pubs are available, though the Rose and Crown is notable for having been where Excalibur spent a good deal of their downtime. Also of note is the Plume Library, home to many rare books.
Carlos was out like a light, but seemed mostly unharmed, other than some scraps and bruises. Trev had done a good job of not having him die, so that was a plus.
"That's different. He was making a substance that hurt people and was selling it to criminals. He also seems to be keeping you in a cell, care to enlighten us as to why? I would assume there's more reason other than that he was an evil bastard."
"Badly." she just says. It looks like the plexiglass window also serves as the door, probably sliding open. There are what appear to be controls for the door next to the intercom.
"I don't think that's a good idea. There's bacteria in here that probably were changed. You could catch god knows what." she says. It sounds a little like something someone might have told her to make her think she'd be better off in here.
"Who told you that? That asshole?" She gestured at Moher as her accent continued to fade. She pulled out her phone and tried to work around the partially cracked screen to try to message the school.
"Going to be willing to bet he wasn't going to do that, since he was selling stuff to juice up mutant criminals and give mutant powers to humans to cause mayhem. He didn't strike me as the 'find a cure' type. Our doctor can't offer you a cure, but he and the rest of us can help you figure out how to get your gift under control. And you could go to school while you do it. It's a pretty neat set up."
Archaea looks at Tereza dubiously, her jaw set defiantly. She looks like she's not ready to give up the idea of being 'cured', much less at the risk of killing people when the killer-bacteria that are surely filling her cell by now are set free.
"I know trusting isn't high on your list of things to do, but you'll just have to trust me. These people really do look out for people like us and do their best to help us."
The plexiglass hisses open and Archaea almost looks like she's holding her breath. She certainly looks tense and only seems to relax when after a minute or so Tereza's skin doesn't break out into boils.
Archaea looks like the fact that people aren't dropping dead is causing the rest of the things she's been told to be drawn into question. She glances over at Doctor Moher.
"Are you sure that's what he was really doing? Turning people into... this." she gestures at herself and everyone else in the room."
Tereza followed the glare, "He's not going anywhere. And he's racked up enough of a charge list to be dumped in some dark hole for a long time." She looked back at Archaea, "But we're only a menace if we choose to be a menace. Our gift doesn't change that choice. If the gift is a problem, then that just means we need help figuring it out and learning how to control it and use it." She gestured at Tosh and herself, "Our whole school is full of examples of that. And we're all figuring out how to use our gifts to help people."
"Guys like him tried to paint me like a psycho school shooter because I happened to be a little freaked out when I suddenly turned into this while getting beat up."
Archaea doesn't say anything, but she also doesn't object when the clean-up crew arrives with Dr. McCoy to bring them all back to the school while the authorities sort out the aftermath.
