Mon Sept 8th - Shady Deals

There's preciously little the man can do to keep the ice from advancing, since he seems unwilling to drop his gun. He takes a step back, right through his buddy who goes insubstantial long enough to pass through him, turning solid again mid-punch that he lands in Tereza's stomach. It seems these two definitely are used to their abilities and each other.

Tereza gasps as the blow connects, doubling over. She gasps something in Russian to the man, her eyes going brilliantly white as the temperature on the walkway falls well past freezing. She cocks back one leg and snap kicks at the superpowered guy, fully expecting him to go insubstantial and he blow to catch the man behind him.

Bruce got back to his feet slowly, spitting out a few bloody teeth.

"Ow..." he winced as his head cleared.

He stumbled once, but soon his pace quickened. He grabbed a work table and used it as a shield as he charged down the floor guards like a berserker.

The guards on the floor provide little resistance to Tosh slamming into the them and the go flying wildly. Most of the ones he slams out of the way are knocked unconscious almost immediately. This clears the path nicely for Carlos who sprints significantly faster than Doctor Moher does. Moher briefly turns around and one of the large metal tanks that's easily over ten feet tall topples over and falls towards Carlos.

Tereza's foot does indeed go right through the man. What the second guard didn't anticipate was Tereza planning for just that so his guard isn't nearly as good as it could have been and Tereza's kick knocks him to the floor where his hands stick to the sub-zero metal of the catwalk. Tereza's leg tingles faintly where it passed through the guard and a moment later she finds out why when the incorporeal man thrusts his arm into her chest which feels like a strange, localized electrical shock. Through her vision swimming from the pain she notices that some frost has actually gathered on the ghostly guard. It seems he's being affected by the cold on some level.

Carlos tries to dive out of the way.

Specifically, he tries to dive out of the way in such a fashion where the large metal tank does NOT fall between him and the doctor, but beggars can't be choosers.

Tereza growls something in Russian, fighting the pain as she drops to one knee. The frost gathering on him turns into inward pointing slivers where his joints should be and she desparately spikes the temperature further downward.

Bruce skidded to a stop and raised the table like a baseball bat as he surveyed his carnage.

"Who's next?" he grinned cockily. Although he did wince behind the bravado.

Trev dashed after his roommate, letting out a massive roar aimed at deflecting the falling tank away from him, and towards Moher. The air in front of him rippled and distorted with the force of the sound.

The tank is knocked away by Trev, stopping inches away from Moher's outstretched hand while the sonic waves hammer into the metal and crush it against the telekinetic force holding it in place. A pinkish liquid spills out in a huge gush just as Carlos tries to roll underneath the tank, washing him off to the side just from the sheer amount of liquid. It doesn't appear to be harmful in and of itself, in fact it smells kind of sugary, almost like a sugary electrolyte drink.

The partially translucent man looks surprised when the cold suddenly bites into him. He yanks his hand back as the temperature dropping and dropping force him back into a solid state. His skin looks awful, like it's been imbued with ice crystal that are stuck in his skin and he lets out a scream.

She pulls the temperature back up, as she doesn't truly want to kill either of them. She force herself back to her feet in an uppercut against the guy in front of her. She's unsteady though, so she's a little off target.

"No? Didn't think so."

After a moment's thought, he bit off the metal table's legs. He ran closer to Moher, deposited the remaining tabletop top-down, and ran back

"Blue! 42!"

He took a running start and kicked the tabletop under the tank with the goal of sweeping Moher's legs out from under him.

The table slams into the same telekinetic field that is keeping the tank from being slammed into him by Trev's continued sonic assault.

"That's enough!" Moher shouts and with a huge telekinetic burst the tank, table and just about everything else in the room in front of the doctor is flung outwards, crashing into the walls, shattering glass and even deforming the catwalks. He spins around and flees into the small room he'd been heading for in the ensuing chaos.

The blast of TK knocked Trev backwards into another tank with considerable force, ending his shout and knocking the wind out of him. He rebounded off the side of the tank and fell to the floor trying to breathe.

Bruce attempted to dig in and ride out the wave, but ended up getting hit by his own table-weapon and tumbling backwards into some equipment. He tossed the table aside and wobbled to his feet. He was sore everywhere and he had a few lacerations on his back, but we was far from out. His eyes were fully wild now as he roared and charged for the small room, oblivious to the suspicious pink fluid everywhere.

The pink fluid, fortunately, didn't seem to do anything on contact with the skin. It's a little tough to run through without slipping but not impossible, especially for someone like Tosh. Charging into the room he'd notice several things. On the left is Doctor Moher picking up a device that looks like somebody strapped a small liquid tank to some kind of bomb, to the right a part of the room is separated by a thick plexiglass pane and a young woman sitting inside the sterile-looking cell. And finally, straight ahead is a window that is showing the skyline of London.

The shockwave had knocked Tereza off her feet and she was slowly getting up and trying to get a sense of where everything had gone.

"I... ah... see no reason not to. Turns out you have to... ah... do everything yourself these days. If this detonates in the air above London it'll empower hundreds if not... ah... thousands of people. A well needed equalizer between... ah... mutants and humans, wouldn't you say?" He points his hand at the window and makes a fist. For a moment nothing happens, then the glass suddenly bursts into dozens of shards that fly at Tosh.

Bruce threw up his arms to shield his eyes and was riddled with cuts, though his hide deflected most of the smaller shards. One large shard managed to lodge in his left forearm.

"Ah... you misunderstand. It will equalize things once the ensuing chaos pressures the government into greenlighting our projects to address the mutant threat." he says, pushing a couple buttons on the bomb to activate it as he carries it over to the now open window.

Tereza jumped down to the floor, stumbling and rolling badly before extending a hand forward as she tried to freeze the liquid in the bomb, but through the pain her control was not as precise as she wanted and the temperature around the whole bomb started to drop precipitously with the area of coldness fluctuating around the actual intended target.

At that Doctor Moher throws the bomb out the window. It has gathered quite a bit of frost on the outside and the liquid inside definitely has gotten a little slushy but it'll probably still explode, even if the affected area might be a bit reduced. The bomb quickly plummets, hitting the side of the slightly slanted outside of the skyscraper they're in. It's probably at least 30 stories to the ground.

Carlos acted quickly.

Diving out the window, he managed to slide down the side of the building and grab the bomb. This was good!

He was now falling 30 stories. This was bad.

How the fuck did we get above ground again? Trev realized as he saw his roommate dive out the window after the bomb.

"Shit! I...I got him!"

well...this will either be amazing or extraordinarily stupid and will get me killed. I can at least slow down a fall...right? he thought to himself as he pushed himself up, a look of grim determination on his face as he sprinted towards the window and jumped through it after Carlos.

Once free-falling Trev had immediate doubts about his ability to actually aim his descent to catch someone else, much less land safely, but he damn well tried, pointing his body to try and catch Carlos before screaming at a frequency that would keep him aloft enough to land safely.

Doctor Moher has a smug grin on his face when people throw themselves out the window, but it freezes on his face when Trev grabs Carlos around the waist and screams. It's aimed downward but everyone in the room can still feel the reverberations as the sonic waves hit the side of the building and the floor, ever so slightly slowing their descent bit by bit as the ground rushes up. But as they plummet closer to the ground the effect grows stronger until, maybe 20 meters above the ground it overcomes the effects of gravity and the two, along with the bomb, slingshot up slightly, their momentum carrying them out over the Thames.

Trev's sound blast slowed Carlos and Trev's fall, and blasted them, out of control, over the river, where they fell in.

Carlos floated to the surface, bomb in his hands. The bomb was not going off. Carlos was not moving.

Trev came to the surface, sputtering and in a bit of a panic--he was not a strong swimmer, and had taken a mouthful of Thames water, and there was still a chance a bomb that had landed in the water with them would be detonating.. His head whipped around for what seemed like an eternity to Trev, looking for it and his roommate, before he spotted Carlos' unmoving form. "Shit! Carlos! You still with us?"

The bomb still looked like it might go explode, but there's a lot of water here and the bomb's payload would more than likely be diluted and washed into the sea if it where to go off while submerged.

Tereza stumbles into the room with Tosh and Moher. She assesses the situation and ice forms on Moher's loose hand as Tereza gestures and says something in Russian that suspiciously comes across as "stop hitting yourself" as the ice-cover fist flies up at Moher's face.

Between Tosh's less-than-gentle embrace and a chunk of ice slamming into his face Doctor Moher is knocked unconscious.

The young woman in the containment room has back herself into a corner in the meantime, looking unsure about the violence taking place outside her cell.

Tereza shakes her head and looks at Tosh. "You okay, Same?" Her accent's pretty thick, but she's understandable.

Trev awkwardly swam towards Carlos, to at least see how he was doing. He had no idea how he might actually pull him to shore if need be, though he was beginning to consider another scream.
