Mon Sept 8th - Shady Deals

[Toshiro Narumi]

"Hmm... Bruce could probably brute force this, but that would certainly set off any countermeasures there might be."

[Tereza Rozanov]

"Your call," she said to Carlos.

[Carlos Vasquez]

Carlos thought.

"We need to get in there now. If Morrigan's right, he might already be gone. We don't have time to waste trying to get down there the nice way."

[Toshiro Narumi]

"Cross your fingers then," he said before shifting.

Bruce grabbed the keypad, his claws digging in, and attempted to rip it free.

[Trev Anderson]

"If we don't need to be quiet, I might be able to get the door down," Trev suggested as his friend went about clawing into the keypad.

[Narrator]

The keypad sparks and with the whine of metal being torn comes free of the wall. Something loses powerand the door moves ever so slightly as the lock disengages, allowing it to be slid to the side without much effort. Beyond the door is a tunnel that looks extremely out of place in the musty cellar. Clean, white tiles and white walls lie ahead of the team. It almost looks like a hospital corridor.

[Tereza Rozanov]

"Well, that's not weird or anything," Tereza says, peeking around the door frame.

[Toshiro Narumi]

"Whoah, spooky hospital corridor," Bruce agreed.

"Guess the tank goes first," he added, heading in.

[Carlos Vasquez]

"Keep your eyes open..." Carlos said, following.

[Narrator]

There's a strange feeling of the air pressure changing as they walk through the door and Sam in particular would notice how the minds of her teammates would feel like they suddenly went out of range. At least until she steps through the door as well. Anybody who would turn around to look back only sees more white corridor instead of the doorway they just went through.

[Carlos Vasquez]

"...mierda."

[Tereza Rozanov]

"Nowhere to go but forward, I guess," she said. "Looks like he's got more powerful backing than we guessed."

[Toshiro Narumi]

"I think I've seen this movie. If lights start going off behind us all spookylike? Run," Bruce said sagely.

[Narrator]

The lights remain on as they move through the corridor. The corridor has the occasional door and doesn't seem to be that long in total. Maybe fifty meters max with a door roughly every 10 or so. They don't get very far until they can hear the dealer's voice coming from an open door.

"It went just fine, yes. They didn't cause any issues."

"Excellent. I hate to give away a... ah... stable batch, but hopefully that should people distracted enough until we can... ah... initiate the next phase." a different voice answers.

[Trev Anderson]

Trev was sweating profusely in his uniform, clearly on edge as he moved into the hall with his teammates.

[Carlos Vasquez]

Carlos held a finger up to his lips, cautioning everyone to be silent as they crept forward more.

[Toshiro Narumi]

Bruce somehow managed to comply, smelling the air as they crept in an attempt to deduce the number of people beyond the door. He didn't know if he actually could.

[Tereza Rozanov]

A cold fog started rolling off Tereza's hands as she crept forward after the others, moving pretty quietly.

[Narrator]

"Have you checked on our... ah... production yet." the second voice continues.

"Not yet sir. Want me to now?"

"No, I'll do it myself. I need to run... ah... a couple more tests. You go ahead and make sure everyone is ready to deploy."

There's a sharp rustling of clothes that sounds like someone saluting, followed by footsteps approaching the door...

[Carlos Vasquez]

"...mierda" Carlos whispered again, getting into a ready stance.

[Tereza Rozanov]

Tereza poised to spring through the door after the person coming into the hall had been subdued.

[Toshiro Narumi]

Bruce tried to look a scary as possible as he waited by the doorway, poised to yank the guy into the hall.

[Doctor Moher]

The dealer steps through the door and barely has a chance to express his surprise before Tosh pulls him over to the side. He still manages to produce a faint yelp before Tosh's hand clamps down over his mouth though.

Meanwhile Tereza slips through the door and is greeted with the sight of an almost boringly normal office. It's a fancy one, sure but still. A man is standing on the other side of his desk, halfway to another door leading out of the room. He looks surprised and, upon realizing Tereza is an intruder, rather disgruntled. "How did you get in here?" he asks while slowly moving towards the second door.

[Tereza Rozanov]

"Land shark," Tereza answered, "Surprisingly hard on doors." She hurled ice at the second door, not really caring if she clipped him, more concerned with icing up his escape route.

[Doctor Moher]

"How... ah... rude." he says, pushing his hands into the pockets of his lab coat. "You're not... ah... disgruntled customers, are you."

[Toshiro Narumi]

"Shyeah right! We're here to, like, totally shut you down dude," Bruce said, still holding the dealer.

[Doctor Moher]

"Of course, of course." he says, wincing slightly as the distinct hiss of an injector can be heard. "You'll understand that... ah... naturally, I can't let you do that." He pulls one of his hands from his coat pocket and underhand-tosses the empty injector at Tereza.

[Carlos Vasquez]

"...mierda! Knock him out!"

[Tereza Rozanov]

Tereza gestured and a thin wall of ice as wide as her body sprang up between her and the injector. The wall was already morphing as the injector struck it, gaining arms and a vaguely humanoid upper body as it started sliding across the floor towards the man in the labcoat.

[Toshiro Narumi]

Bruce turned the dealer to face him, saying "Boo," and gave his teeth a snap. If that didn't work, he'd risk a knockout blow.

[Doctor Moher]

"As much as I would like to stay and... ah... chat with you people, I'm afraid I have more pressing matters to attend to." he says as a wall of telekinetic force slams back everything around him. The desk is thrown into the far wall and Tereza's construct shatters, as does the ice coating the door along with the door itself. Doctor Moher quickly moves for the door and into the room beyond. From what they can see through the open doorframe it leads onto a metal catwalk that wraps around a big, open room.

The poor dealer was already on the border of soiling himself. When giant shark teeth snap together in front of his face he just goes slack in Tosh's arms and he faints.

[Tereza Rozanov]

Tereza shields her face from the flying debris, growling, "I hate teeks." Seeing Moher has taken off, she takes off in pursuit, lobbing ice at him as soon as she can possibly see him. It looked like she was mostly looking to distract him though.

[Toshiro Narumi]

Bruce dropped the dealer and joined in the chase, going around the opposite direction in hope of beating the Doc to the other side. Also, spitting ball lightning in the guy's path when and if he gets in range.

[Carlos Vasquez]

"I need a ranged attack," Carlos muttered, following Tereza to provide backup of the punchy kind.

[Doctor Moher]

As they run out onto the catwalk they can see that Doctor Moher has jumped over the railing and lands on the lower floor, leaving behind a slight circular impact where he caught his fall. The lower floor is full of all kinds of scientific equipment. Large tanks, incubators, sterile workbenches. The far side of the room seems to have some kind of separate area, almost like a container office but made from sturdier metal that Doctor Moher seems to be heading for. "Stop them!" he yells as he takes cover behind one of the larger tanks in the room, Tereza"s ice and Tosh's electricity narrowly missing him and leaving a big scorchmark on the floor instead and slamming into the metal tank respectively.

There are at least two guards on the catwalk close to the door and a couple more on the ground floor, though how many is hard to tell at a glance since there seem to be scientists and other 'civilian' personnel down there as well. One of the guards raises his weapon while the other seems to punch himself in the thigh while his buddy covers him.

Bruce jumped over the rails, landing with a thud.

"You think you losers can match us power against power? Bring it noobs," he taunted with a 'come at me' hand gesture.

[Tereza Rozanov]

"Well, shit," Tereza says, ice launched from her hands towards the guards on the catwalk targeting the guard's gun with one hand while the other hand tried to freeze the other guard's punching hand to his leg.

[Doctor Moher]

Doctor Moher turns around as he's backing up towards the separate room at the other end of the room. He raises his hand towards Tosh and with the flick of his wrist sends the giant shark crashing into the ceiling and back down into the floor.

The guard expected something and fires, but he's not quite fast enough. The bullet freezes along with the rest of the barrel in a chunk of ice. To his credit, he reacts pretty fast and swings the frozen chunk at the end of his weapon at Tereza. The second guard flexes his hand and it grows intangible and moves out of the icy prison that had frozen it to his pants.

[Tereza Rozanov]

The ice takes on a gummy consistency, softening the blow, but still shoving her to the side some. She grunts with the impact and the ice grows down the gun to try and grab the guy. "Go, help Same," she says to Carlos, "I've got this."

[Carlos Vasquez]

"I'm counting on you!" Carlos said, leaping down to chase after the good doctor.
