Basil lead the unlikely duo on a short walk to the Rose and Crown. He never liked to drive under the influence, even it was only a pint.

"So what do you like to eat mate?"

"At this establishment? No clue." He laughed. "I'm sure they've burgers though. Most pubs do these days."

Basil paused, and turned his head towards Franklin. Now distracted from the food menu, the pattern of his nervous system indicated he was frowning.

"I'm not being nice because I want something Franklin. "

"Everyone does in my experience. Sometimes it's money, other times it's to atone for the past, or even to no longer be lonely. It's how the world is. What matters is that you are honest about, especially to yourself."

Basil's frown deepened.

"I'll bite. What do you think I would need from you that I'd need to coerce out of you?"

Basil had placed his order, and turned back towards Franklin to lead them towards a seat.

"Just heard? What about blues-man?"

"Loneliness is good for the blues. I've never had companionship, so I have no idea what it's like. Sounds like a lot of work and trouble. I'll stick to my music."

The order came around to their table. Basil had notably not gotten any food, and simply started in on his pint.

Franklin took a tentative bite of his burger. Satisfied that is was good, he proceeded to take a few more bites before taking a big sip of his drink. "Well, you haven't cussed me out or attacked Me. So I would say it is pretty decent."
