Sept 12th - 'Mutants Need Not Apply'

[Alex Maurell]

"No, I never had anyone to show it too. You're the first to hear the whole story."

[Carlos Vasquez]

"You've never thought to have it looked at? Maybe someone could give some context to your vision."

[Alex Maurell]

"Well, like I said I never had anyone. Bloomfield wasn't exactly a center for mutants, including me I think there were only four known mutants. But yeah, maybe someone at Xavier would know. Anybody you have in mind?"

[Carlos Vasquez]

Carlos shrugged. "I'm afraid I can't help you there, mate. One of the professors might be better suited."

[Alex Maurell]

"Right, well, I'll do that later. For now I'm going to continue the search for a job. Wanna join me? It'd nice to have some company."

[Carlos Vasquez]

"I'll come with you for a bit. I'm afraid I'm no good at job hunting, though."

[Alex Maurell]

"Cool, hopefully these next ones will work out better than the others."

[Carlos Vasquez]

"I'm sure you can find something."

[Alex Maurell]

No such luck. It seemed that every store that they went to blocked them before they even stepped foot inside. Stepping out of what seemed like the tenth store to deny him, Alex couldn't help but feel frustrated. "The hell is going on here!"

[Carlos Vasquez]

"Maybe your resume isn't up to snuff?"

[Alex Maurell]

He glanced over at the store and then back to Carlos. "I'm pretty sure it is. They just denied me right out of the gate, it was weird."

[Carlos Vasquez]

"You're not carrying, like, an XU keychain or something?"

[Alex Maurell]

He glance down at himself, checking his pockets real quick. "Nope. You think they're texting eachother or something?"

[Carlos Vasquez]

"I suppose it's possible."

[Alex Maurell]

"That'd be unfair..." He didn't know what to do now. The search seemed to be an abject failure.

[Carlos Vasquez]

"Life isn't fair sometimes, I suppose."

[Alex Maurell]

"I wish I could just change their minds. I'm a good person, I work hard, I'm honest and helpful..."

[Carlos Vasquez]

"And modest!" Carlos laughed.

[Alex Maurell]

"Hey, job searching is all about selling yourself. Humble doesn't sell."he smirked.

[Carlos Vasquez]

"Plus, it's not cocky if you can back it up right?"

[Alex Maurell]

"Exactly, but I can't prove anything if they won't even give me a job application. I might just try on campus again, see if anything has opened up."

[Carlos Vasquez]

"It might be safer that way, though it might feel like giving up."

[Alex Maurell]

"True on both accounts. One more place and then we can go back to campus. Thanks for sticking around by the way. Having someone to talk to is nice."

"Not a problem."
