I2 - With A Certain Flair

[Tereza Rozanov]

After picking Vivienne up, Tereza led them to a restaurant on High Street with the rather unimaginative name of 'Maldon Tandoori'. The inside was nice though. "Hopefully you'll like the food. I wasn't exactly sure what your tastebuds would like."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"New home, new experiences, it does smell different, spicy, but good."

She smiled and looked over the menu carefully.

[Tereza Rozanov]

"Enjoying your classes so far?" She perused the menu herself, but kept stealing glances at Viv.

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"Some more then others and my evenings have been mostly filled with my own personal studies."

[Tereza Rozanov]

"Still playing catch up?"

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"From what I have gathered, I am missing the basic education in science and world history and by basic, I mean the education you received in your formative years. I have also taken to patroling the grounds at night since my mother's warnings."

[Tereza Rozanov]

"You may be giving my formative years a bit too much credit," she said with a chuckle.

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"Well, I was born in the age where the country of your birth was depicted on maps as "Here there be dragons."."

[Tereza Rozanov]

Tereza easily slipped into her accent, "I didn't think Russia was *that* far away from here."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

Vivienne tilted her head and smiled.

"Perhaps not dragons, ice trolls most likely. Most people on this island never left their own villages. The world was only as large as the distance of a half days walk. I grew up in the Fey world science does not exist there. Magic is our gravity."

[Tereza Rozanov]

"I am the ice troll, depending on who you ask," she said, sliding back into her 'American' accent. "I don't imagine that science is all that different from magic in some respects."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"I believe it is very similar, simply called by different names. Yes, to a select few you would have been the troll. Though you are prettier then any true troll I have ever seen."

[Tereza Rozanov]

"Well, thank you," she said with a broad smile. "You are quite lovely yourself."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"Tha.."

She paused and looked around before she smiled.

"Thank you. Back home I was considered very plain for a nymph."

[Tereza Rozanov]

"You can't be serious."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"My ears are misshaped, my skin is sickly pale pink and my eyes are..."just plain freaky", having an iris, pupil and white, add my appearance with the my nymph heritage, I was never a first choice. At least not to most Fey."

[Tereza Rozanov]

"Their loss, our gain," she said with a small shrug.

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"Though in light of my mother's warning, I am not so sure about that. However, for the moment it is you and I and whatever is on that tray at the other table."

[Tereza Rozanov]

Tereza glanced at the tray, "Looks like chicken."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"I think I will try that. It smells wonderful." She smiled and set down her menu to wait for Tereza to decide and the waiter to return.

[Tereza Rozanov]

Tereza perused the menu a bit more, then told the waiter, "We'd like two of those," indicating the dish at the other table.

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

Vivienne look idly at the decor, actually appearing awkward for a moment.

"Have you settled well?"

[Tereza Rozanov]

"I think I'm still settling. Seems like every time I start to feel I have a grasp on things, new things pop up."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"At times I feel as if I am attempting to walk across the sea. Uneven, ever moving, cut off. I believe that is the nature of this place."

[Tereza Rozanov]

"To some extent it is, hence the mortal urge to grab onto whatever solidity they seem to find."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"Not so different after all." She smiled.

[Tereza Rozanov]

Tereza smiled back, "Maybe not. Questions for the mere mortal at the table?"

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

She looked thoughtful before speaking.

"Did you wish for this to be a date?"

[Tereza Rozanov]

That didn't appear to be the sort of question she was expecting and it caused her accent to reemerge. "Well... yes. If that's okay with you. I can understand if it isn't."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"I do not know." She smiled.


"I enjoy your company, but I am unsure if my enjoyment is the same as yours. I do believe I would like to see if it could be." Her head tilted as she regarded Tereza a moment before reaching for her hand across the table.

[Tereza Rozanov]

Tereza looked at the hand for a moment, then reached her own across to take Vivienne's. "I can be good company most days."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

She smiled and squeezed Tereza's hand a moment before withdrawing as their food arrived.

"We shall just have to see how we do on our worst days."

[Tereza Rozanov]

Tereza smiled to cover over her sudden bought of 'you will screw this up' insecurity. "I think we can manage that."
