Though many students might prefer going to London, Maldon provides closer amenities for those without a car or unwilling to pay for a cab. Several pubs are available, though the Rose and Crown is notable for having been where Excalibur spent a good deal of their downtime. Also of note is the Plume Library, home to many rare books.
Not too long after the fighting dies down Miriam comes back down, dressed in her own clothes this time. She stands in the front door, watching Ursus being dragged away.
"I think you knew Trinity more than I did. I'm not saying you know what the hell was going on, but I didn't even know she existed until she pulled up in her car."
"Apparently I'm a supremely bad judge of character. Are we done here now? I'd rather get out of here before Sam decides she has to give me shit for this as well."
Miriam just looks at Will as if he just slapped her, then pushes herself away from the doorway and starts to walk away. "If that's how you think about me, then I'd better go."
"I'll just... call a cab or something. Don't mind me." Sitting next to Will and Sam in the van for however long it's going to take them to drive back tot he school is probably the last thing she wants to do right now.
