"You wouldn't be the one attracting bees everywhere."

[Molly McFly]

"Well, hey, at least you'd be getting some."

[Shane Marsh]

"What's that supposed to mean?" he said, bristling slightly.

[Molly McFly]

"I'm just saying, you have such a wonderful personality."

[Shane Marsh]

"Whereas you are bloody Miss Congeniality," he responded sarcastically.

[Molly McFly]

"Hey, at least I didn't open a conversation by saying 'hey, that thing you're doing? You know you suck at it.' Or spend a horrible date whining about how daddy didn't love me except with large checks."

[Shane Marsh]

"That wasn't the conversation and you know it. But, for the record, 'daddy' has about four days left before I very publicly stop giving a shit about his PR. I've already arranged things, because he, like you, doesn't think I have the balls to actually do it."

[Molly McFly]

"Well, if the shoe fits. I'll believe it when you do something."

[Shane Marsh]

"Well, since then I've surprised myself by rushing to help fight a berserk giant tree monster in the Danger Room with safeties glitched off. At least I thought they were until the room shut down and it's burning corpse stayed behind."

[Molly McFly]

"Good for you?"

[Shane Marsh]

"If I can face that without my spine melting, then why not a fat bigoted idiot?"

[Molly McFly]

"That's a good question."

[Shane Marsh]

"So... I've realized you were partially right and am going to fight back for real for a change."

[Molly McFly]

...Shit, that sounded sarcastic. I DO mean good luck. It can be hard to fight family."

He hadn't expected sympathy after their disastrous date and the magical shower mishap.

"Thanks. It's... much easier to just be self-destructive isn't it?"

[Molly McFly]

"Much. Much, much, much.'

[Shane Marsh]

"Spoken from experience?" he asked curiously.

[Molly McFly]

"No, I'm pretty much perfect," she said, rolling her eyes.

[Shane Marsh]

"You don't seem the self-destructive type," he answered.

[Molly McFly]

"Yeah, that's the thing, you know? You can't tell by looking at someone."

[Shane Marsh]

"True enough," he acknowledged.

"So... this party... what is it you have in mind? No mockery this time, I promise."

[Molly McFly]

"I don't know yet. Maybe it's not such a good idea."

[Shane Marsh]

"Don't worry about what I said before. It's a well documented fact that I'm a bloody terrible judge of what constitutes a bad idea."

[Molly McFly]

"Maybe you are, and maybe you're not."

[Shane Marsh]

"Surely self destructive people like us can at least throw a good party. In fact it is the very legacy of our noble, often drunken, people."

"Like you said, my first party was a disaster. Probably better to stop trying."

[Shane Marsh]

"Oh come on. I didn't reconstitute a spine just to have you lose yours."

[Molly McFly]

"Yeah, you don't get to say that until you do something."

[Shane Marsh]

"At least I'm not afraid of parties," he smirked.

[Molly McFly]

"Has anyone ever told you you have a really punchable face?"

[Shane Marsh]

"Many times... with their fists."

"Well, they're not wrong."
