When Suddenly...

[Tereza Rozanov]

Tereza's ice block oozed back, moving her over a nearby manhole cover. It ripped the cover up, moving it around to shield Tereza as it deposited her into the open cover and into the underworks. "Looking for a different approach," she said over her radio in a calm, surprisingly collected voice.

[Ophelia Sarkissian]

Madam Hydra drops the flame-thrower and jumps off the tank and into a roll when the lightning strikes the tank, coming up into a kneel, eyes scanning the perimeter.

"Air support, weather manipulator! Sector 4H!" she hisses into her comm before sprinting the other way, pulling a grenade from her belt and throwing the beeping and blinking explosive into the manhole Tereza disappeared into. The grenade explodes into a cloud of green gas that billows out of the manhole as well as into the sewers themselves.

In the air somewhere between the rooftops and the clouds the Hydra jet has finished it's turn and is coming back around, it's machine gun blindly hammering into the buildings around Wanda. It's clear they don't know for certain where she is but with how the rain of bullets is tearing into the buildings that's an at least somewhat academic problem.

[Tereza Rozanov]

Tereza did not immediately reappear and there was no response on the radio, though that had to be because she was now surrounded by rock and infrastructure. Right?

[Wanda Johansson]

Wanda ducked away from the rain of debris and general mayhem caused by the machine gun fire on her position. She tried to slam the jet with crosswinds, but it was moving too fast and she was too distracted to accurately target. Still, the air up there was getting increasingly turbulent.

[Haley Crusek]

"Getting real tired of your shit, lady," Haley grumbled, narrowing her eyes and sending a crude mental blast at the woman.

[Ophelia Sarkissian]

The jet banks dangerously to the side as it hits a pocket of turbulent winds, the trail of machinegun fire moving away across the street before cutting out. The jet recovers in the distance and goes into another turn to come back around.

All Haley's efforts seem to do is to draw the woman's attention, her head snapping around towards her as Haley's attack is dashed against the steeled mind of the woman. "Insolent whelp! You thought your mental parlor tricks would faze the Viper?" she advances on Haley as she unfurls a metal whip that snaps out and curls around Haley's wrist. She grins triumphantly and yanks Haley towards her, her other hand catching the tiny blonde around the throat. "Who do you think you are?"

Ice burst out of a manhole cover further down the street, flowing and bringing Tereza up with it. Her hair was streaked in white, matching the glow of her eyes, and a very obvious blue color traced all the arteries and veins under her skin. A quick look and she extended one hand and the two jetpack troopers who'd fallen dragged themselves to their feet, the glint of ice visible beneath the joints in their armor as the ice moved their unconscious bodies and by extension the armor they were wearing. The two began laying into their own, trying to work their way to the Viper.

Lightning started arcing between the clouds, stirring them up even more as Wanda dragged the cloud ceiling lower and lower. She was currently focusing on the jet, deciding that was where she could do the most good.

[Haley Crusek]

"I'm... the tiny bitch... that's going to make you..." Haley gasped for air, struggling to find a witty comeback as she steeled her mind for an attack.

She focused her will and her eyes flared with energy as she slammed her telekinetically strengthened fist into the woman's abdomen. She'd used the same move against a car in the danger room and bent in the door enough to make it not open anymore, so she hoped it would at least get the woman's hand off her throat.

Madam Hydra's no car, but she's wearing high-tech combat armor and for some reason Haley is feeling increasingly sluggish. The punch still cracks the armor, shattering a good chunk of it and driving the air out of Madam Hydra, but somehow she still manages to hold on to her. Her eyes are staring daggers at Haley as she lifts the tiny girl up into the air with a pained grunt, the sharp tips of her armored glove pushing into her skin.

"Has no one ever taught you that Vipers are poisonous!?" she hisses at her, dangling her at arms length between herself and the two advancing soldiers as a human shield. "You and your friends should run. This is war and war is no place for weak little kids! Surrender or face the consequences of your actions!"

[Haley Crusek]

"Little. Help. Here. Guys." Haley gasped into her comm, darkness clouding the edge of her field of vision. She tried to focus what little remaining energy she had into ripping the woman's middle finger backwards, not stopping until her nail touched the top of her wrist.

[Tereza Rozanov]

"I can do war," Tereza said as soldiers stopped still and the block of ice that Tereza had left back down the street tried to wrap itself around Viper from behind.

[Johann Shmidt]

"Insolent whelps! You dare stand before the might of a batallion of Hydra? Beware, my dust of death!" the Red Skull shouted, pulling out an odd looking hand gun and firing a red mist towards the bunkered down x-men.

[Ophelia Sarkissian]

Madam Hydra screams out in pain as Haley breaks her finger and let's her go. If by letting her go she means throwing her at Tereza's ice construct, which sweeps the tiny Texan up and out of immediate danger. When she hears the Red Skull shout there's a mix of outrage and fear in her eyes as she dives back from where he's firing. Even though she wasn't too close to the red mist she doesn't seem to want to be anywhere near that, it seems.

[Tereza Rozanov]

The ice construct sprouted legs and began running away with Haley as Tereza dodged away from the red mist as she said into her radio, "This is Glacier. Fall back and regroup at the university." She followed the construct, throwing up walls of ice behind them to discourage pursuit.

[Wanda Johansson]

Wanda heard Tereza's instruction over the radio. With one last worried glance at the sky, she moved to follow.

[Haley Crusek]

Haley coughed and sputtered, gasping for breath as she was swept to safety.

[Johann Shmidt]

"Run! Run! The British are cowards," the Red Skull crowed as the X-Team retreated.

"My plan is working perfectly."

[Ophelia Sarkissian]

"Your plan? You're a sleeper cell. Mere reinforcements for my strike-team!"

[Johann Shmidt]

"And who, prey tell, might you be?"

[Ophelia Sarkissian]

"I'm the Viper. Ruler of Madripoor and Leader of the Thule Society. Hail Hydra!" she proclaims with the tone of voice that expects to inspire grovelling or at the very least obedience.

[Johann Shmidt]

"A steward, then. Excellent. You shall be useful."

[Ophelia Sarkissian]

"Don't delude yourself! I've earned my place as Madame Hydra and I'm not about to surrender leadership to a fossil such as yourself!" she is quick to inform Red Skull before turning to her soldiers. "Assist them in establishing a beachhead!"

[Johann Shmidt]

"Blitzkreig Squad! Take point!

I did not travel across the time barrier to take orders from a mere woman. HYDRA has always been but a decoy, buying time for the rise of the Fourth Reich!"
