When Suddenly...

[Narrator]

The time portals were all over the place! 991 AD, 1432, 432 BC--the very concept of time was being stretched, and, if Tosh's readings were correct--were about to snap entirely in about five, maybe ten minutes.

[Toshiro Narumi]

He worked as fast as he could to identify the center of the cluster of anomalies.

"Nailaaah!" he called out worriedly.

[Nailah Weaver]

"Yeah? What?" she asks, as she emerges from the bubble pushing another pair of confused and irritated looking people with her.

[Toshiro Narumi]

"I need you in the van!" he called back.

[Nailah Weaver]

"What's wrong?" she asks after poking her head into the van. "The tether thingie seems to be working fine, I almost got everybody out."

[Toshiro Narumi]

"We have a much bigger problem," he said gravely, motioning to his display.

"I'm detecting new anomalies forming all over the place and that we have five to ten minutes before all hell breaks loose."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Wait. There's more bubbles like this one? And what do you mean 'all hell breaks loose'?"

[Toshiro Narumi]

"Either time makes like a non-euclidean pretzel, or absolutely nothing... literally, because time has stopped."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Oookaaaayyy... So now what?"

[Toshiro Narumi]

"I'm trying to figure out where all this is originating, but beyond that... I just don't know..."

[Nailah Weaver]

"There"s gotta be something we can do!"

[Toshiro Narumi]

He just looked down. "I..."

...should just crawl into a fetal position.

Don't you dare quit on me Bro.

I'm not a physicist! Or a Rob!

[Nailah Weaver]

"Yeah?" she says, looking at Tosh as if she's still expecting an answer. At least someone's got some faith in him. Or maybe she's just desperate for an answer because her power isn't providing one.

[Toshiro Narumi]

Hey! I wouldn't give up! I would beat myself into a bloody pulp to do everything in my power to save my friends!

But what if...

If I do nothing I've already failed.

He looked back to Nailah. "Is your phone with you?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"Yeah, of course." she says, pulling out her phone.

[Toshiro Narumi]

He did some digital sorcery with the terminal and a clone of his anomaly map appeared on her phone. He also tossed her a compact microphone headset with a camera attachment.

"Get to the air and head into that red zone that keeps shrinking. You'll know as soon as I do where to go but you can get there first."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Great! You should send that to the school too, maybe they can send out more people." she shouts over her shoulder as she's running off and spreading her wings to take to the air.

[Toshiro Narumi]

Tosh instantly went about sending out an emergency call-to-action to the university as he watched for a location.

[Johann Shmidt]

Tosh's countdown kept ticking....and soon, everything...snapped.

The cafe practically EXPLODED, sending shards of glass and brick everywhere. A tank rolled out, plunging into the streets of Maldon.

Riding high atop the tank, flanked stormtroopers was....the original Red Skull!

"Now, let the sleeper awake! The hour of destiny approaches!"

[Toshiro Narumi]

Tosh saw the tank on his camera feeds and his eyes went wide.

He hurried to the driver's seat and stuck his head out. "Get in!" he yelled to every non-nazi present.

[Tereza Rozanov]

A voice came in over Tosh's radio, "Russian winters tend to prove bad for Nazis. I'll try to hold them til more backup gets here. Get as many out as you can." Lumbering down the street was one of Tereza's larger constructs with her encased inside it, making straight for the 'hot zone'.

[Narrator]

Meanwhile somewhere in what appears to be a cockpit of some sort a green display shows a map of Maldon as well as a target reticle indicating a destination.

"We've narrowed down the location, Ma'am." the pilot informs a shadowy figure standing behind him.

"Excellent. Time to destination?"

"Less than three minutes."

The figure nods decisively. "Everyone prepare to disembark on my command!"

[Molly McFly]

Molly scrambled into the van.

"What the hell is going on!" she complained.

[Johann Shmidt]

The tank rolled into the street, as the street-level soldiers opened fire.

"Of all my many plans, this is truly my most diabolically perfect" the Skull crowed from his post, directing traffic.

[Toshiro Narumi]

"Somebody broke time. But more importantly, Nazis!"

Tosh floored the accelerator.

[Molly McFly]

Tosh would be able to get away from the nazis, but then he'd find the van headed straight down another main street towards tartan-and-kilt clad warriors, apparently very happy to be smashing up English shit.

"Gah! Men in skirts!"

[Toshiro Narumi]

"That's the detail you're focusing on!"

He swerved onto another street.

[Tereza Rozanov]

The ice on the front of Tereza's construct thickened as she barreled towards the tank. The arms extended with ice flying off from bullets before the arms twisted into cannons on their own, pitching chunks of ice at the street-level soldiers. There was a bright white glow shining in the vague vicinity of where her head was in the construct.

[Johann Shmidt]

"Foolish girl! None may withstand the might of Der Rote Schädel!"

Tereza was knocking the foot soldiers aside with some ease, her ice-bullets knocking them around.

That's when the cannon of the tank aimed straight at her, and prepared to fire!

[Haley Crusek]

Haley arrived just in time to see a tank taking aim for Tereza, she yelled a warning and flung her hand in front of her to aim her telekinesis, willing the end of the barrel of the cannon to crumple like a discarded straw wrapper and hopefully stop it from firing...or make any shells fired just backfire

[Tereza Rozanov]

Tereza had noticed and was already in the process of throwing herself to the ground. The construct lost form as it flattened out with her, the ice still shielding her but in a more like an amorphous blob.

[Narrator]

Haley wasn't quite able to crumple the barrel, but she WAS able to deform it, sending it aiming upwards. That, combined with Tereza's flattening out, meant that the shell missed Tereza with plenty of room to spare!

It also meant it blew up the bookstore across the street, but hey.

[Haley Crusek]

"Shit!" Haley swore, stomping her foot in frustration as she saw the results of her miss. She redoubled her effort, bringing her hands together in the air in front of her in a smashing motion and trying to prevent the tank from firing any more rounds.

[Tereza Rozanov]

The ice lunged, reforming into the construct as Tereza started trying to sweep away from more of the foot soldiers before they could decide that the tiny blond would make good target practice.

[Ophelia Sarkissian]

The tank's shot is still ringing in everybody's ears when another, sharper bang rings out and the arm of Tereza's ice construct explodes into a million pieces from a high-impact sniper-round.

Above the scene, a figure clad in a form-fitting green combat armor is descending on what appears to be a jetpack, along with numerous soldiers wearing face-obscuring helmets in the air behind her. Above them a jet roars past, banking into a curve to turn around in the distance.

"Clear out the area so the rest of our reinforcements can come through!" she barks at her troops who immediately swarm out and take aim at Haley and Tereza, firing their guns. "Start moving that tank! Run down those insignificant worms! All hail Hydra!" she gloats, reloading her rifle as she's hovering in mid-air.

[Tereza Rozanov]

"Haley, button up your shields, it's going to get cold out here!" Tereza managed to get through the radio before focusing. The effects were subtle at first hardly noticeable amidst the hail of bullets ripping apart Tereza's construct. Then the water vapor in the air started condensing as the temperature dropped rapidly. Windows frosted over or even cracked as their temperature shifted abruptly. The cold reached for the descending soldiers, grabbing for them, their equipment, anything it could get its grip on. The construct abruptly shifted into a cube with Tereza at its heart, rapidly trying to replace bits it lost, very slowly losing that war of attrition.

[Haley Crusek]

"Well, shit. This is getting messy," Haley grumbled, her eyes starting to luminesce a bit as she focused her will into a shield around herself that would hopefully slow down bullets. She zig-zagged across the street trying to avoid giving the tank or newly arriving soldiers an easy target. Bullets tested her shield, sending up sparks of blue energy as they impacted against the force barrier, and Haley dove behind a stone bench along the street for cover. She popped up after a moment, shield still in place and tried to yank one of the firing guns off target enough to make the two of the goons shoot each other as the ice began grasping for them.

[Johann Shmidt]

"All Hail the Fourth Reich!" the Red Skull shouted.

Theresa and Haley were able to slow down the foot soliders, and the HYDRA forces were forced to fall back a little bit--but now they had grouped together. The X-Team needed some backup.

[Ophelia Sarkissian]

Madam Hydra's small squadron withdraws a little to avoid the frost, two of them getting caught in it, their jetpacks sputtering to a halt and sending them plummeting to the ground. Meanwhile Madam Hydra lands on the tank next to the Red Skull and shouts at one of her remaining troopers while slinging her rifle on her back. "Flamer!" The trooper tosses something her way that looks suspiciously like a flamethrower and a moment later the spray of flames pushing back against the cold confirms it as Madam Hydra douses anything nearby in flames, actually cackling with maniacal glee.

[Wanda Johansson]

As if in response to the insanity, the sky clouded over and the clouds rumbled. It all seemed very atmospheric until a bolt of lightning crackled out of the clouds, stabbing at the upturned barrel of the tank's main gun. Behind the cover of a corner of a building down the street, Wanda leaned hard against the building, hands working as frantically as her eyes moved, managing all sorts of variables at a rate that might make even Ashlie a little proud.
