I3 - Not That Kind Of Street Sweeper

[Tereza Rozanov]

Tereza stopped the motorcycle at the first sign of raiders out of time. She pulled her helmet off and shook out her hair as she looked at them and spoke to Vivienne, "We're trying to clear them out, open up as much travel space for Will and the others as possible."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"That I can do." She slipped off the back of the bike, no visible helmet hair for the lady fey of course. She moved to the nearest patch of lawn and began to draw several softball sized shears of water as she dropped her human guise.

[Tereza Rozanov]

Tereza called out to the looters, "We suggest you choose another time and place to be!" As she spoke, ice built up in front of her.

[Narrator]

The highlander in question responded with a gesture which is not fit for publication.

[Tereza Rozanov]

"Wrong answer," she said as she stepped into the ice. It flowed up her body, encasing her in armor reminiscent of Iron Man's outfit. She levelled a hand at the highlander. "Lethal only if necessary," she said to Vivienne, before charging the highlander and pelting him with rounded chunks of ice from her palms.

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"My, he's quite eloquent for a raider." Vivienne turned to the next nearest aggressor and pitched a water softball at the small of his back.

[Narrator]

Teresa and Vivian began cutting through the populace--the highlanders were good, but not really a match for mutant powers.

[Tereza Rozanov]

As Tereza iced an unconscious highlander to the sidewalk, she continued to push forward, "Part of me enjoys this. I'm not sure whether I should be frightened by that."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

Vivienne focused and turned a large stretch of lawn into a bog, pulling two kilted fighters down and submerging them to their necks. "A test of our creativity and you know how I feel about human's interpretation of morality."

[Tereza Rozanov]

"Some of us have morality pre-emptively applied to us and we have to abide by it," she said, her hands sweeping the area as she moved forward looking for more to vent on.

[Will Stanton]

"Sorry to keep the two of you waiting," Will said, jogging behind them. "The others should be coming with the equipment. How we doing getting a pathway over to the center of this mess?"

[Tereza Rozanov]

"So far so good. They're focused on their looting, so we're taking care of them."

[Will Stanton]

"Hopefully, whenever the tech guys reset this, they'll all...vanish...or something."

[Tereza Rozanov]

"We can worry about the other side of that scenario if it happens. Are you doing okay?" She pelted a passing stray centurion, forcing him to hide behind his shield.

[Victor Freud]

Victor was more nervous than usual. A situation like this was enough to put most people on edge, and he was a pretty twitchy kid to begin with. His knuckles were white, his skin pale, and not a single quip left his pursed lips. He held the power core to his chest as tightly as if someone was going to steal it from him, the thing about the size of a basketball but with way more science attached to it.

Spring, tightly wound. Spring, tightly wound. Spring, tightly wound.

[Emilie]

Emilie didn't seem to be 'following' in the traditional sense of the word at the moment. She actually appeared to be hurriedly leading the very nervous boy, while carrying some of the other parts needed. The sandwich was shoved into her bag, cut into smaller portions to make it fit. She looked at the boy and smiled that annoyingly confident and casual smile she always did, her shades falling down her nose a bit.

[Ashlie Minamida]

Ashlie is actually accompanying the convoy, staying in the back although she keeps a careful eye on the power core. Or possibly Victor. Her theory about him somehow being the cause for Emilie's dimension-hopping is still the prevalent one and carrying a shrunken power-core stripped from a 2-ton combat-drone through an area of unstable space-time is a situation that might have the potential to cause long-reaching dimensional damage like that.

[Victor Freud]

"Hey, um - hypothetically - what would happen if this thing became unstable?"

[Ashlie Minamida]

"Hypothetically? In it's current shrunken state it would take out a city-block. But this is an energy source, not a bomb. I assure you it is perfectly safe. Just don't drop it."

[Emilie]

Emilie forced back a frown, knowing how that was not going to help Vic's current state.

Her next sentence was spoken in a very soothing, soft voice as she glanced at the shrinking boy over her shades, having recovered her confident smile.

"We're jus'gonna drop this off with Tosh, it'll be a piece'a cake. Promise."

[Victor Freud]

"Butshejustsaidnottodropit." Vic stammered before forcing himself to take deep breaths to calm himself down.

[Emilie]

Emilie shifted the things in her hands, pulled her heart shape glasses up to her head, and came to stand in front of Victor. She was looking him in the eye as best she could, though the minor height difference caused her to be looking up at him through her lashes.

"Hey, listen. It's gonna be okay. Breathe." Keeping the eye contact with him, she inhaled through her nose and out through her mouth to illustrate in point and try to steady him out. Her lips also remained relaxed as she exhaled in the same fashion she might as she was smoking, and for all intents and purposes she was the picture perfect image of calm contrasting Victor's nervousness.

Tereza gave the area another quick scan, "You should be able to push to the store and hook up with Tosh. We'll double-back and play rear guard, make sure no one sneaks up on you."

[Victor Freud]

Vic matched her breathing, calming down. "Sorry. I just... this is way more complex than a can of pop."

[Emilie]

"Irregardless of their complexity, all things are made from the same matter, and all things return to it. Only their purposes are different. So all that matters is how we use it, right?"

Emilie reinforced with a continued serene smile.

[Ashlie Minamida]

"She's right." Ashlie, perhaps surprisingly, agrees. "Although some of the matter in that machine is rare and I'd prefer not having to repair it."

[Victor Freud]

Vic hugged the thing even tighter, because decoding idioms and concentrating on keeping a potential bomb condensed was multitasking, and he wasn't always good at that.

[Will Stanton]

"C'mon, guys, keep it together."

[Emilie]

Emilie fought a frown again. Trying to pressure Vic into 'manning up' never helped any either, but she didn't expect the green haired kid to know that.

"Everything's gonna be alright." She reassured. " We're just gonna give the thing to Tosh and then he'll fix it all. Okay?"

[Victor Freud]

"Don't worry, I'm not freaking out." Vic said softly. "This is just, like... trying to carry a pyramid of champagne glasses."

[Emilie]

"Think of it as practice. For the ladies. " She jokes, trying to keep the tension down now that he seemed slightly less nervous.

"Let's roll."

[Victor Freud]

Well that seemed to be the type of peptalk he needed. With a deep breath he picked up the pace and proceeded with more confidence in the center of the "convoy" while the more capable students cleared the way.
