I3: Attention Shoppers

Though many students might prefer going to London, Maldon provides closer amenities for those without a car or unwilling to pay for a cab. Several pubs are available, though the Rose and Crown is notable for having been where Excalibur spent a good deal of their downtime. Also of note is the Plume Library, home to many rare books.

Tosh stepped into JMP Electronics through a broken glass door unnecessarily barred closed and looked around, ready for anything.

The store seemed fairly empty for now.

"You're going to save the world with a TV?" Molly asked, rhetorically.

Tosh, meanwhile, turned into Bruce to move a heavy washing machine. He shifted back and fired up his sonic electric screwdriver to get to work removing its motor and drum.

A while after Tosh starts gathering up components and materials the group arrives with the power core and various other requested things. While some keep an eye on the street outside Ashlie heads deeper into the store, looking around a bit dubiously as she searches for Tosh.

"An interesting choice for a source for parts."

By then, he had a nice collection of motherboards and refrigerator coils and had mostly built a cooled processor array in the washing machine drum.

"Used to build things from random scrap all the time," he said as he soldered something in place. "Never had to loot though," he added with nervous laugh, "... or have to stop a temporal apocalypse. Desperate times right?"

Ashlie nods. "We have to take into account that the disturbance is being actively generated in the past. They're anchoring themselves to our time, if the temporal frequencies overlap we risk pulling their base of operations through entirely."

For her part, Emilie was watching the entrance to the shop they'd come in, her back to whatever it was Toshiro was rigging together. She'd thought about having a smoke break, but had forgotten she'd emptied everything out of her bags to bring Tosh his food.

She held out his sandwiches with her back turned to him. Two slightly mashed six inchers, probably cut in half.

"Roast beef, melted swiss, horseradish sauce.

Like wasabi 'cept not green. No vegetables." She stated, remembering the last time she fed him him mentioning his feral issues.

Tosh's stomach growled loudly the second he saw the sandwiches. He snatched them up and, between ridiculously large mouthfuls, said something that was probably an acknowledgement of Emilie's awesomeness. In about six bites, he was done and back to work with a powerful belch.

"...sorry..." he blushed.

Ashlie looks a little befuddled that someone would carry sandwiches into a situation like this, but then again she has never felt hunger and judging by how Tosh wolfs down the food it apparently was a good idea. Instead of getting into the middle of that discussion she just clears out a space for Vic to put down the power core.

Victor thought that being pregnant with a shark baby was a pretty lame excuse but he wasn't going to argue about it right now. The sooner the power supply got hooked up the sooner the others could use their Star Trek Voyager words to fix the problem at hand. He knelt down and, very carefully, began to "decompress" the core. It was a task that required a lot of concentration, otherwise it might suddenly snap back to it's original size... or only parts of it might; neither of those possibilities were likely to be good.

Ashlie patiently watches as the core slowly grows out to it's original size. Once Vic is clearly done she steps up and begins opening panels and pulling segments out of it according to some complicated sequence, inspecting various parts and hooking up cables to it. Running various diagnostics and inspecting critical components she nods. "Only minor recalibrations needed. Excellent job, Mr. Freud. Remind me to ask for your help the next time I have to work on miniaturized components."

What Tosh did next would truly horrify Will. He used a hand saw to cut one side off of two shopping carts and then welded them together. It was in this frankencart that he mounted the processing array.
