While most traffic was fleeing from Maldon, there was a motorcycle currently headed towards it. Nash had been a ways away from it when he had gotten Tosh's original message and started heading back. So far he had seen nothing but the strings of cars heading away from it, but with what was going on, that couldn't last long.
