"You've spend too much time over there, turning American. Europe trip." she chuckles. "What countries did you go to?"

"Started with Spain, Italy, and Greece, then walked my way north. Hitch the occasional ride but mostly walking. It was a lot of fun."

"You walked through the Balkans all by yourself? Wow, you have some guts, girl."

She shrugged, "It was where I needed to go and I don't always use the roads when I'm walking."

"Well, being a mutant does make up for a lot of concerns. Still, that's impressive. What were some of your favorite moments?"

"There was this rainstorm in Italy. It had been building all morning and around noon, it finally let go. Blew itself out quickly, but then the sun came back out and everything smelled so fresh and everything looked so green. It was absolutely beautiful." It was highly likely that Miriam would pick up on some of the strong emotions and impressions that this had left on Wanda.

Considering that Miriam is actively trying to glimpse those impressions, that's right on the money. She can't help but close her eyes and take a deep, content breath in what feels like ages.

"Sounds nice..."

"It was. I'm sure there's some places like that around here. I plan to go looking for them sometime."

"It's one of those things you work up to. Walking to town is a good starter."

"Hmm? I doubt it's that much different..." she says, stopping to look back at Wanda, not really following.

"You'd be surprised," Wanda said, looking back around town. "You're aware of people because of their thoughts, right? Now translate that into being aware of how the air moves, the patterns that heat in the air creates. Sometimes it helps to see beyond the 'surface'."

"Sometimes, I guess..." she concedes, mostly because she feels it's the answer Wanda is looking for. In truth she's never really looked for it, the somber and morose thoughts always seeming to resonate with her more.

Wanda looked at her for a long moment before turning and walking again slowly. "I think the bakery should have survived. It's just a couple of streets over."

Good job, Miriam... she scolds herself as she follows Wanda. She can't help but stare at the back of Wanda's head and get a glimpse of what was going on in her head, mainly because of the morbid curiosity of wanting to know just how much damage she'd just done to Wanda's opinion of her.

Wanda's mind was a little compartmentalized, so the first thing Miriam managed to touch was a little overwhelming. Racing thoughts that seemed to be tracking a ton of things all at once. Wind out of the east, shifting towards northeast. Clouds forming. Minor pressure disturbance to the south. Barometric pressure increasing. Humidity...

As interesting as it was too see how much information Wanda's mind seemed to process at any given time, it's not really what she's looking for, so she presses past it. It probably would have helped her get what Wanda was saying earlier if she'd just take a moment to look at the world through the lens of Wanda's mind, but somewhere deep down she's built up a deep aversion to that concept.

Pushing past that, she got to what Wanda was thinking. She's pretty cool. Nice-looking too. Needs to lighten up, look on the bright side maybe. But that's her call, not mine. Stick to imposing myself on the weather, that works better.

Miriam can't help but smile a little. She'd been dreading worse and this horrible breach of privacy made her feel much better.

"Hope I didn't kill the mood there." she finally says, taking a couple of quick steps to catch up with Wanda, asking the relevant question only after determining she wasn't going to be disappointed by the answer.

"What? No. I got distracted there, sorry." It was a lie, but a convenient one and not malicious. "Walking sometimes makes me hungry."

Miriam chuckles anyway, either because she's polite or because her sense of humor is lame.

"Hey, wanna see a trick?" she asks, focusing on Wanda's mind once more, this time to try and see if she can figure out what she's thinking about ordering.
