She tilted her glass in thought, "I'd actually kill for a supervillain right about now. Might take my mind off effectively being dumped."

He winced sympathetically. "The faery princess right? Her loss if you ask me."

Tereza shrugged, "Said she had to go take care of some quest or something. And her concept of time is... shaky at best, so there's not a lot of point to waiting on her to come back."

"You certainly are," he chuckled, "If you start hating rain and fog too you're pretty much in Hell."

"Rain and fog aren't too bad. I can appreciate the creepy that fog lends to the atmosphere."

As if to lend some atmosphere, outside the windows a fog started crawling along the streets and generally making things more creepy.

"I was twelve, and a bunch of us... err, I was at boarding school and still a good little muggle... anyway, a bunch of decided to sneak out to do stupid kid stuff in the woods behind the school. One thing led to another and I ended up having to head back alone. So there I was, a little twit plodding through the foggy British night without so much as a bloody torch... and I see headlights, off to my left. At least that's what I first thought, but I wasn't on the street and they were way too... angry. I can't explain how, they just were. I picked up the pace but I could swear the lights were following me. Then some lightning from an approaching storm lit up the fog just long enough to glimpse what I later swore had been a bloody huge red-eyed dog."

"Needless to say I ran my little arse off."

"Sounds wise," she said. "Never experienced anything like that myself. At twelve I can imagine it was completely terrifying. Now, we'd just tell it to bring it on."

"Good one," she said with a grin and motioned for the next round of drinks. "Getting foggy," she said, looking out the window.

As they watch, the fog creeps in thicker around the pub. Hardly an unusual sight for a town bordering on an estuary. Still, perhaps it's the power of suggestion but one might almost swear they saw something moving in the fog.

"Not a ton of pedestrians at this time of night," Tereza said, her eyes still watching the window as their drinks arrive. "But you're probably right," she said, still looking out the window.

The movement becomes clearer as it nears, some of the streetlights filtering through the fog. A vague human shape, albeit a fairly tall one. Its movement has frequent pauses, changes of direction. As if looking for something.

The figure pauses again. At this distance, they can tell it is either hooded, or perhaps has long hair. It cants its head oddly, looking down one of the alleyways. Its chin lifts and lowers a few times in rapid succession.

The figure turns again, and for the briefest moment the streetlight glints in its eyes, not unlike catching an animal out behind your porch at night.

It stalks past the pub, some of its features becoming clearer as it nears. It's a rather tall woman dressed in baggy clothing, though one might wonder how one gets baggy clothing in that size. Her hair is long and wild, seemingly not wanting to lay in anything resembling neatness.

Continuing past the pub, she pauses at the alleyway on the opposite side of it, again canting her head in that direction. She lifts her chin once more, nostrils flaring.
