Nailah sighs and shakes her head. "Well, thanks. Guess I gotta track him down and yell at him." she says with bit of a 'whelp' expression on her face, stuffing another bite of fish into her mouth before heading back over to Haley.

"We're looking for a boat called Merriweather. Yacht kinda thing, shouldn't be too hard to find if it's in the harbor."

Haley breathed a sigh of relief as things remained calm and Nailah returned unscathed and with hopefully no suspicion on their story.

"You're so fucking smooth. That was awesome. I would have totally made them nervous and not give us any info."

Haley munched on her fish contentedly. "Alright. So. We go find this boat. Do it now in the day or later when we can sneak better?"

Nailah grins though the adrenaline seems to be catching up with her a bit now. "I am pretty awesome."

"It probably can't hurt to at least fly over the harbor and see if we can spot anything. We already did coming in anyway, so what's the harm, right?"

"Alright. Let's not rush this food though...it's hard work trying to keep us...fuck what's the word?" She mumbled, munching on another piece of fish sandwiched between several fries. Chips. Whatever.

"Not invisible. But. You know...not noticeable."

"Well, I've seen crazier things around campus lately, so I didn't want to assume anything," she giggled.

Haley cleaned her plate and made several attempts to distract Nailah and steal more fries from her partner's serving.

Haley nodded in agreement, pulling out a credit card from behind her phone case and paying at the bar on their way outside. "If we go high enough," she pondered aloud once they were outside, "probably won't attract too much attention."

"Well we still wanna be able to read the ship names." she says as they head outside.

"Shit...good point..." she replied. "I mean...we could try and find some binoculars maybe..."

She chewed on her lip in thought, " Eh, fuck it, we're just some daredevil kids from that damn mutant school flying around the harbor. Who'll care? Right?"

"Exactly! And if somebody does recognize us and starts some shit, well, then we found what we were looking for!" she smirks as she spreads her wings. She takes a couple running steps and with one big beat of her wings takes to the air.

Haley grinned, reassured by her partner's enthusiasm. She stretched her arms towards to the sky, her eyes flared blue for a moment, and the air around her seemed to distort before she ripped into the air following after Nailah. They sailed through the air over the harbor and started their search.

There were quite a few boats in the harbor, but nothing that looked like it would have its own launch and nothing named "Merriweather." They were getting a fair share of people standing on decks looking at them though.

Nailah gives the people watching a joking salute before doing a couple spirals in the air, showing off. And also making it seem like they're just flying across the harbor for fun. Yeah. Definitely not just showing off.

"Hmm... Maybe they're out at sea..."

"I don't know a god damn thing about boats," she chewed her lip after she landed with a flourish as well, "so I have no idea how far out a boat like that could go."

"I'm guessing... somewhat? I mean, it's a boat, I figure it can leave the harbor. I'll at least do pass along the coast to see if I can spot anything." she says, circling low but not actually setting down.

"Alright. Yeah. Let's do that. You go north and I'll go south maybe? I think I can keep us in contact," she said tapping her temple and rising up into the air with her partner.

Haley nodded with a grin and shot through the air to survey her part of the coast.

"Can you still hear me, Hottie?" she asked through their mind link.

"Yup!" comes Nailah's thoughts, although they're accompanied by a nasty mental whine that drills into metaphorical ears like a feedback noise. "Ow!"

Haley frowned after several minutes of searching turned up nothing before turning back and heading towards town to meet back up with Nailah.

Eventually Nailah turns back around as well, similarly frustrated about not having found anything as she lands next to Haley in an intentionally rough three-point landing.

"Bah... Nothing." she grumbles.

Haley was fiddling with her phone, sitting on a bench facing the water, an annoyed grimace on her face as Nailah landed.

"God damnit. I wish my telepathy wasn't so useless. I feel like Sam could probably just close her eyes and find these fuckers."

"Maybe we just need to, like...make our search bigger. Like. I bet Toshy could do something smart with computers and the internet to help us find the boat. Or...well...I've never really tried it, but I at least sort of know how Cerebra is supposed to work?"
