I'll do what I can, but it may be a 'just-in-time' change.
Too early and my hand gets tipped and then... well...

A fair bit of time had passed since the cropdusting occured before the former googirl made her appearance with a couple of trays from the cafeteria stacked on top of each other. She stumbled at the door a bit, forgetting that she couldn't just stretch her leg to help open it wider. This was going to take some getting used to.

"Someone clear a place for me, si vous plait?" She wasn't even having trouble breathing any more, what a quick learner! Setting down the trays on a work table she was able to spread them out - paper cups with plastic lids with things like "CN", "Veg", "Tom", and "Chili" written on the top in sharpie, and a little plastic basket of spoons from the cafeteria. The other tray had what were obviously sandwiches wrapped simply in wax paper, similarly labeled with things like "turk" and "cuke".

"I zought perhaps zat it would be helpful is you did not need to leave to get somezing to eat, so I poked around in ze freezers for a little somezing. Oh, ze tea. Baseel!"

Basil was practically right behind her, carrying two gallon thermos' in one arm (coffee and tea) and dragging a cooler of soft drinks with the other.

Americans preferred those anyways.

Balanced precariously in the cooler was a box of what ended up being cups, tea fixings, and a bag of cookies.

One trip from the car or die trying. Yolo.

Colette had enough hands free to take the thermoses for Basil, even of said hands had at least one bandaid on every finger, taking the opportunity to give him a little peck on the cheek as she stood on her toes. Actually, at second glance she was looking in kind of rough shape. Despite the cheery demeanor her eyes were red and puffy, if she'd been wearing makeup it likely would have been an absolute mess.

Ainsley looked at the ceiling in thought, then nodded his head.

Seemed like food was probably a good idea.

And anyways, that weird French bird had cucumber sandwiches.

Leo got up and headed over with Ainsley to get some sammiches. It could be Ainsley's imagination, but... were Leo's horns shorter?

"Glad somebody thought about food," he said to the great providers, before demolishing a turkey sandwich with a few massive bites.

Incapable of asking verbally, Ainsley reached out to tap one of Leo's horns with a nail to get his attention, then making a 'smaller' motion with his fingers shrinking towards each other.

And while a finger of cucumber sandwich was dangling from his mouth.

Leo looked confused for a moment before figuring it out. Feeling one horn, he said, " Seems the same to me, but I don't usually feel at them."

Then he used his phone to take a selfie and examined it. "Huh... Maybe? Still not sure."

Basil had been stoically propping up the girl through most of the task she wanted to see through to the end, sometimes literally. He loomed about frequently when she was playing with the knives and more than zero times had to reach in and make sure she didn't lob off one of those very solid (if temporary) digits of hers.

He helped her distribute snacks to those who were interested, then settled into a place to sit near her and her little project.

Basil had frequently joked about himself being 'the prettiest prince'. Now visible to the world around him, it didn't take a person with good eyesight to realize he was being only slightly self deprecating. While everyone had different yucks and yums, very few people would argue he wasn't at least a little bit of a looker.

It was the beakish, aquiline nose and the lanky body that would keep him from being a supermodel, but the rock star or actor he wanted to be? Well in those roles, his slightly more human qualities only lent him character, an approachable air that he was robbed of as an invisible man. The tailored look he frequently presented was served to suit the overall aesthetic. Today's choice was a sharp pair of black slacks and matching shiny shoes and belt. The top half, a blue and green tartan vest and a solid blue tie over a black dress shirt with rolled up sleeves, the 'I've been working' look. A stylish and probably expensive silver-coloured watch which lacked any sort of 'bling' acted as his only accessory.

All added together, to the right person Basil wasn't just be a snack, he was a full goddamn dish. And that put him in a strange place where now in these circumstances, it was him that stood out next to Colette, and not the other way around.

"You should eat something too." Basil offered. "Not too much... We have a capacity."

Ainsley was a bit concerned that somehow, the gas zap might be effecting his other traits as well. Mainly, because they were going to need those traits from him.

He determined to keep an eye on them closely, to judge.

There was a crash from a worktable near the entrance and Chase stumbled into it.

"Ow! Damn it! I can't even walk without falling over everything!"

The trek from the dorms had been a nightmare. Being robbed of his accustomed agility had turned his effortless grace into a bumbling mess.

It was true, compared to Basil Colette looked a bit of a Plain Jane. Especially now that she'd started "dressing down" from her formerly formal look.

"Oh, is zat what zat feeling is? You do not feel zat all ze time?" Colette grabbed a cup of butternut squash soup and opted to go at it sans spoon, holding it in both hands.

"How do you know when it is not too much?"

And she somehow didn't spill it all over herself when Chase fell in.

"Sip it very slowly. Eventually, the emptiness will start to fade.

Sip too quickly and you'll eat too much and make yourself sick. Remember, your stomach has never eaten before, so it's not likely to be expanded..."

Basil looked up at the least dexterous ninja. "Ah, Chase. Just in time for tea."

"Seriously. This sucks. And I was starting to like Lippincott. Bastard."

Basil's eyes hit the floor for a moment as he fought off a frown.

"I'm... generally not included in those conversations Chase."

Basil is immediately distracted by Victor's question, and folds his arms over his chest, furrowing his brow in thought as he tapped at his clavicle with his left hand.

"Uncertain... but the stables would just by the nature of what it is." He offered in thought, making a thoughtful face as his eyebrows arched in unison.

Colette had finished her soup and decided to try a sandwich, taking a modest bite. Of course there was a big difference between soup and sandwich - one of them you had to chew. A fact that she learned a little too late as she just straight up tried to swallow her bite.

"You have to use the teeth in the back of the mouth before swallowing Madame. "Basil explained patiently with a worried expression.

"And tiny bites." He added, his shoulders and chin shrinking inward all towards each other for emphasis.

"No." Basil replied taking the phone anyways and circling around her, grabbing her by the waist and pulling her in. He nestled his chin into her shoulder.

"Smile." He commented, snapping a photograph with the cell phone.

One that worked. He held the phone out for her to take back.

"Shoot as many as you fancy. It might be your only opportunity."

Colette took the phone and stared at the picture, her expression one of surprise instead of a smile in the photo. Her face immediately flushed, the young woman covering her mouth with one hand.

"Oh my goodness, I look a fright." She sniffled a bit before she started trying to fix her hair. She had to make herself more presentable.

The Prettiest Prince of course had a comb, and knowing she has not at all had a lot of experience fixing her own hair, reached out his hand and lifted her chin up , then began straightening out her hair for her.

As he did so, he wore an expression of complete adoration, a spoony sort of a smile.

"Check yourself in the phone and see if you find that acceptable Madame."

Colette was getting pampered, and took it without any sign of bashfulness. She checked on herself with her phone, her smile more readily available this time as she took a snap. "Zis is much better. We will have to go back home and get some pictures in our nice clozes, no? While we still can at least." Really, apart from bringing another batch of food, there wasn't much she could contribute to the planning.
