The young man seems confused. He opens his mouth as if to speak but the image falters between him and the moped, anguished horn noises and radio static passing his lips.

"Alright calm down mate. If you get too worked up we might lose each other."

"I'll try to boost the signal," Sean said and tries to adjust the spell to get a better connection to the spirit.

"Is that better?" She asked of the ghost, trying to determine if that helped at all.

Vic patted Emilie on the shoulder. Because... it felt like the right thing to do. He honestly thought that anything he said to the ghost would just make things worse.

The young man's image grits its teeth in frustration. He opens his mouth, but what comes out sounds like another song.

"Oh, the sky fell over cheap Korean monster-movie scenery
And spilled into the mezzanine of the crushed capsule hotel
Between the Disney abattoir and the chemical refinery
I knew I was in trouble but I thought I was in hell..."

It's clearly music at the start, but the backing instruments start to melt away midway through the stanza. The voice starts to change from Elvis Costello singing to a different person's simply speaking, cracking and straining.

"Come on, you can do this mate. Just push a little harder!"

Sean wanted to release the spell as trying to tune it was rather taxing. He instead redoubled his efforts and focused on strengthening the connection between him and the spirit in the bike.

"Oh gosh ghost guy, you're sooo close, just a little more!"

"So you... you look around the tiny room, and you wonder where the hell you are..."

There's confusion on his face. It still sounds like a song lyric but he's just speaking it now.

"Where... where is this?"

"Braddock Manor." Emilie replied. She didn't figure explaining all the details would help him any, so long as he knew where he was. And she suspected he would by that.

"My name is Emilie. Who are you?"

"Why... why would they send me there? Shouldn't I be in hospital?"

"Didn't they... tell you my name when they brought me in?"

Emilie frowned, realizing what the spirit must have thought happened.

Like many spirits that had not yet realized their situation, he thought he was still alive.

"No mate. Listen.

I need to tell you something but I'll need you to remain as calm as you can when I tell you. If you don't, you might lose me and then I won't be able to help you. Alright?"

"What do... what do you mean lose you?"

"You might not be able to talk to me anymore if you don't remain calm, and that would be bad because if you can't talk with me I can't help you.

And I want to help you. So you gotta keep it super British chill, okay? Composure is key."

"I don't... understand. I had an accident. Why did they send me to some old duffer's?"

"Your accident must have been quite bad. Maybe we can figure out why you're here together.

Do you remember what caused the accident?" She asked, hoping to lead him to the obvious conclusion instead of just dropping the 'you're dead' bomb on him.

"I took a spill off the pier with my Vespa."

"There was a couple on the road riding a motorcycle," Sean said, "Did you know them?"

"Well I thought I knew her, and he's the one that shoved me into the drink."

Emilie could tell there was a question Sean wasn't asking.

"Who was she? Maybe we could find her too, if we knew. Get her to answer some questions."

"She's just... the girl, right? The... the girl..."

It seems like the name is on the tip of his tongue, but he can't summon it.

"Everyone has a name, right? Even You?"

"Me? I'm... I'm... the Ace Face. So I am."

"I'll just call you Ace, if that's alright."

She pauses for a moment to ruminate on some things he said before she continues.

" Any clue why that asshole would have knocked you off your ride?"

"Well, I was... I was angry. I was trying to catch up to them."

Ace Face?

"Why were you trying to catch up to them?" Sean asked.

"He... he stole my girl, alright? We were going to get hitched and all."

The expression on Emilie's face said a lot about her thoughts.

"I'm sorry, I really am. I know how that feels, it's...

Angry doesn't quite touch it... but we have to ask these questions in order to help figure things out with you..." She paused for a moment to give their new friend a time to process what she said, then spoke again.

"Did you two know each other before he knocked you off your ride?"

"We hated each other's guts. I'm the Ace Face, he's the Wild One. That's just how this goes."

"Do you know his name? Or did you just know him as the Wild One?" Sean asked.

"Didn't... didn't I just say his name?"

He seems confused.

Emilie pauses, then repeats him.

"The Wild One, right?"

"R-right," he says haltingly. Something isn't clicking for him but that sounds right.

"Sounds like you were rivals.

What can you tell us about him?"

"He's a rocker. Always would hassle us. Enough grease in his hair to lube a Vauxhall."

"Really made it... sting, you know what I'm saying?"

"I do." She responded with some skepticism.

"If I were to go and look for him, where would I find him?"

"Him and his mates hang out by the waterfront. Hell, you could probably hear 'em coming."

"Sean... If we broke contact with Ace, would you be able to... 'call him up' again?"

Sean was quiet for a moment as he considered his response.

"Yes," Sean said, "Provided nothing happens to what he's anchored to."
