Leave Your Weapon On the Table

The site of the recently restored Braddock Lighthouse. Aircraft hangars and other X-Men facilities, including a Cerebra unit and the Danger Room have been constructed around the foundations of the lighthouse.

Natalie nods and moves back, working to clear some space at Ashlie's direction. Finally she returns to the suit, giving it a look-over before she disconnects the parts and starts putting it on. It's not particularly sleek, but it at least has a uniform appearance, even if that appearance is 'metal gray'. All the pieces reconnect and she pulls on the helmet, the system in the suit beginning to boot up and feed her information. Finally, the lights in the helmet go all green and she says, "Well, here goes nothing," as she takes a a few slow steps towards the cleared out area.

She backs up a bit and then runs forward, arms moving as someone's arms would when they run. She skids to a stop, the hips and knees having to compensate a bit for the slide and almost making her sit on the ground.

Code: Select all
"I think I failed to compensate correctly for the variance of weight in this body from my original body."

She runs again, sliding to a stop better this time. A couple of more tests with both more and less momentum and the algorithm seems to be holding, the movement assist code working as intended.

She walks over and squats down to lift one of the heavier crates they had to move out of the way. Servos across the body spin up to provide additional support in response to the effort.

Metal groans for a moment as components and materials settle under the strain, but nothing breaks. Power consumption shoots up but that's to be expected.

She sets the crate down, moving to a lighter one and lifting it, monitoring the power spike.
