Pack Meeting

[Will Stanton]

Will sat quietly in the girls' locker room, converted into a warmup location for Team Wolfpack.

He awkwardly tugged at the university-provided training uniform, adjusting himself so as to make it a better fit.

He twiddled his thumbs, nervously, and tapped out rhythms with his feet, as he waited for go-time.

[Natalie Denisov]

Natalie steps into the room, dressed in an X-Men uniform, but with a distinctly disgruntled look on her face. "You need anything, Will?"

[Will Stanton]

"Natalie?

No, no, I'm...I'm alright. Is there... a lot of people out there? In the audience?"

[Natalie Denisov]

"There's quite a few. I have to go join them unfortunately. Since it's in the Danger Room, I'm not allowed to participate. Too easy to accuse me of cheating when the environment's virtual Ashlie says."

[Will Stanton]

"No, no, that makes sense," Will smiled up at her. "It's alright. It's really the thought that counts, anyway."

[Natalie Denisov]

"Yeah, I still wish I could help." She sits down next to Will and after a moment puts her hand on his shoulder.

[Will Stanton]

"Thanks, Natalie," Will whispered, placing his hand on top of hers.

"Things will be alright. Somehow. I've got all of you around to help pick me up, after all."

[Natalie Denisov]

She squeezes his shoulder, "Win or lose, we'll still be friends." She stands as she sees Tereza coming in, "I should get in there. Good luck, Will."

[Will Stanton]

"Thanks, Nat," Will said, waiving at Tereza as she entered.

[Tereza Rozanov]

Tereza waves back, rolling her shoulders in her uniform and rolling ice between her fingers. As Natalie leaves she sighs, "That sucks. Would have been nice to have her on the team."

[Will Stanton]

"At a certain point, there's only so many people I can ask to be in here. I owe you -- all of you -- a tremendous debt."

[Samantha McManus]

"Seems a bit like cheating anyway," Sam says as she walks in.

She's wearing her shifting uniform, and it looks like she's added a substantial collar of black feathers onto it. Or it would, if one could find the seam where she attached them. She's got a jug of antifreeze in one hand.

[Will Stanton]

Will eyed the jug warily. "Something for celebrating post-match?"

[Samantha McManus]

"Tereza's going to be tossing ice around. Figured this might give you an advantage over the other one."

[Will Stanton]

Will's eyes widened.

"Oh! Oh of course, that makes a lot of sense," he said, taking the jug. "Yes, I could see how this would give us an advantage.

It's not cherry flavored, is it?" he asked, unscrewing the top. "I can't stand artificial cherry flavor."

[Samantha McManus]

"I hear it tastes sweet, other than being... well, poisonous to most things that drink it."

"But you're not most, eh?"

[Will Stanton]

"I dunno, I'm nothing special," he said.

Or, presumably that was what he said, as he started chugging the antifreeze. You really shouldn't talk with your mouth full.

[Basil Benson]

The collar of an empty suit popped it's head in after Samantha.

"... Uhh, hullo." He greeted awkwardly.

[Samantha McManus]

Sam looks over her shoulder and blinks.

"...you talked Basil into this?"

[Will Stanton]

"I didn't talk anyone into this" Will protested, his skin taking on a bluish hue as the antifreeze worked it's way into his system. "Tereza did most of the planning."

[Tereza Rozanov]

"We'll be fine," Tereza reassures him as she leans back against one of the lockers, closing her eyes. Sam gets a sense that there's an internal conversation of some sort going on. The ice on her fingers twirls, occasionally running to the tips to form claws before going back to snaking between her fingers.

[Colette Rosenhof]

A pink head poked around the doorframe as well. Of course it did, the invisible boy was present.

"Allo. Is everyone ready for ze football?"

[Basil Benson]

"Tereza didn't rope me into anything either. " Basil said finaliastically.

"If you must assign me a roll, think of me as the reporter."

Basil placed his hand gently on the shoulder of the smaller entity with him.

[Ashlie Minamida]

Ashlie's voice cuts in over the speakers, informing everybody of the rules.

In a blink Basil was visible only to Samantha and Colette, the look of concern painted on him the way his jeans often were. The faint signal was there, though Sam probably had too much on her plate to notice the background sound.

"Good luck Sam.

Come Madame, we should let them be."

[Tereza Rozanov]

Tereza opens her eyes, looking at her teammates. The irises are golden yellow, but the rest of the eyes are flickering with white energy as she falls into her power. Sam can feel their connection open wide, even though it seems that it's largely Tereza in charge. "We don't know exactly what they're bringing to the party. But I've read the mission reports. Their Will is impulsive and impatient. He may favor overwhelming force to try and scatter us. But we're pack. We hunt, we harry, and when the prey is tired and weak, then we close in for the kill. We may scatter, but it's only so they can't protect themselves from the claws coming to hamstring them. We *will* win this."

[Colette Rosenhof]

Colette tried to give them a reassuring smile. "Yes, good luck everyone." And with that she left with Basil to try and get some seats.
