"Well... they were broken five minutes ago, but they popped in when you guys did."

The other people were mulling about the cavern, gradually grouping together behind the people they knew as they looked around, in confusion.

"Well, shit. OK, first thing's first. We've got to get out of here and see, you know, where we are. Exactly. Because we can't all be right."

"Agreed, Uncle..." She stops the automatic reference with some embarrassment, "Agreed."

[Will]

"Ok, if you're Sam's daughter, and I'm your uncle, then I'm...Sam's brother? Nailah's brother?" Will said, trying to figure out the relatively simple family tree involved.

"If Simon shows up next, I'll be a monkey's uncle," he joked, looking for the stairs up to the lighthouse...and finding them, which may come as a surprise to the Modern XU peeps.

"It's... more complicated than that. A *lot* more complicated than that."

"Okay, I could swear those weren't there when we came in," Tereza says, finally mastering her wolf's panic enough to speak.

"Why am I not surprised."

The stairs led up to the lighthouse -- busier than anyone from London or ModernXU would recognize, emptier than FutureXU's peeps would see. And then they stepped outside and saw the twisted madness the campus had become.

"Aaand we're all right."

[Nailah Weaver]

"You know what, I'll take it as long as it means not having to swim out. Thanks fake dimensional ghost stairs."

And one swift ascend later, at the sight of the complete chaos that is the skyline...

"I take it back..."

Haley grabbed for Nailah’s hand as she looked out and saw the surroundings.

“Hoooooly shit.

"I'm not an expert on transdimensional physics, but this can't be good," Ryan said, putting a finger to his ear. "Nomic, are you there? We need a head-count of campus, if possible."

[Miranda Weaver]

"I've got to go check on the Institute dorms," Miranda says, pulling the cylinder off her belt, "The students are probably terrified."

Nailah gives Haley's hand a squeeze, almost subconsciously.
