The door to the workshop in the point swung open, and Mitch stepped through, a duffel bag swung over his shoulders.

"Hello? Anyone around?" he called out, looking around the room. "Anyone at all?"

The nearly instrumental metallic grind associated with the tightening of bolts came from behind a partition in the corner of the large room of high-tech doo-dads. Whoever it was apparently couldn't hear him.

He would find a rather large white and blue ferret in an X-Men uniform wearing child-sized work gloves and safety goggles. The creature gave his ratchet wrench a final crank before worming his way out of the small half-constructed cockpit of some kind of robotic vehicle. He removed an earbud, allowing the faint sounds of Johnny Cash to leak out as he looked at Mitch expectantly from an upside down position.

"Ya want somethin'?" he drawled.

"W...w....what?" Mitch said, taking an involuntary step backwards. "W...w....who?"

"What? Never seen a shifter be..." he began to ask before his eyes landed on the cybernetics.

"Oh my god is that a cyborg hand?!" he asked with a grin and wide, beady yet adorable eyes. He scrambled over for a better look.

The arm wasn't quite working at full strength -- it had apparently been banged up a little on Mitch's trip to the university.

"Sorry about him. That me can be a bit... insistent."

The damage mostly appeared to be superficial -- well within Tosh's capabilities to fix.

"Then, if you wouldn't mind. I'd hate to be delayed too much on my first day."
