Hearing Diego scream brought Colette to her feet, her empathy for another student trumping her nervousness, so now she was fully revealed. What stood before Basil's gaze was not the Colette he knew, and maybe not the one he pictured in his head if he had ever imagined her without the goopyness. It was quite likely that she was more easily recognizable as being related to her mother than as Colette, subtle differences brought about presumably by her father's genetics. Brown hair, brown eyes, modest figure, how very... average.
Of course in her eyes, Basil looked as he ever did. In a panic of course, but that was a good 25% of the time anyway. The real difference was that others could see him the way she did.
