[Shari]

Shari's a little surprised, but only for a moment before she returns the kiss.


"Pretty good for a hologram lady..." she says with a goofy grin.

[Natalie Denisov]

"Thanks," she says, blushing, "It was good on this end as well. Though I think I need more data..."

[Shari]

"Is that what you call it?" she grins even wider.

[Natalie Denisov]

"Definitely need to reproduce results," she says, grinning as well despite being nervous, "And possibly expand our methodology."

[Shari]

"You're so weird." Shari laughs, then seems to realize something. "That's a good thing! I like weird. Weird is fun."

[Natalie Denisov]

"I'm just me," she says, pulling Shari as close as she can, "I'm glad you like that."

[Shari]

"You are. But also a big cave full of shiny rocks now."

[Natalie Denisov]

She chews on her lip again as if pondering something and then says with a nervous smile. "A big cave of shiny rocks that almost no one comes to..."

[Shari]

"Oh really? Who would have thought a computer would be so... frisky."

[Natalie Denisov]

Natalie sticks her tongue out, "There's still a 'me' in here. I mean, if you don't want to, then that's fine... I was just thinking..."

[Shari]

And that's when Natalie is tackled to the ground by the alien girl leaping into a kiss.

And that was enough to get Natalie to stop thinking.

((Fade to crystal-lit black))

[Natalie Denisov]

((Some time later))

Natalie reflected that this was good. She was happy and Shari seemed happy too. She reached up to brush a stray hair back behind Shari's ear. "Not bad for a hologram, huh?"

[Shari]

"I don't know, there was this one machine on Crombulus 3..." she starts, only giving Natalie's face the chance to derail the fraction of a second before adding a quick "I'm kidding! I'm kidding!"

[Natalie Denisov]

She pokes Shari in the stomach, "I don't know. If you can give me specifications, I can try to recreate and we can see." She grins.

[Shari]

"Wowww, you are one horny computer." she laughs at the poke. "What you really need is some space-heaters down here."

[Natalie Denisov]

"I'll have to see what Caretaker can whip up. Maybe we can generate some heat with the hard light projectors," she says, looking lost in thought before pulling herself back to the here and now.

[Shari]

"I'm sure you'll come up with some horribly over-engineered version of setting some sticks on fire." she snickers.

[Natalie Denisov]

"Complete with flames that can have their color adjusted with a remote control," she says with a mock serious nod.

[Shari]

"Gonna be the coziest server room."

[Natalie Denisov]

"At least until I can figure out another place," she says, pressing her forehead to Shari's.

[Shari]

Shari smiles, but looks a little contemplative.

"What changed? About... you know, being all... touchy."

[Natalie Denisov]

Natalie ponders for a bit, "The input is... different. Let me explain." She takes a deep breath, "In my physical body, it was too much. In the robot body, it was... too distant." She runs a finger over Shari's cheek and ear, "But this is just right."

[Shari]

"I'm not sure I understand but... I'm glad. Maybe this is where or what you're supposed to be."

[Natalie Denisov]

"It may be," Natalie says, "I'm glad it's working. Because this is wonderful."

[Shari]

"I'm sorry I was acting like I knew what was right for you. I should've been better about acknowledging your strange alien ways."

[Natalie Denisov]

Natalie smiles softly, snuggling close. "We both had limited understanding and were in uncharted territory. We were bound to make mistakes. You're forgiven. I'm sorry I worried you. I was wrong to ignore your feelings and concerns."

[Shari]

Shari shrugs a little to get her arm around Natalie better. "I was wrong. You're not like me and I should have been aware of it. I think I was just scared of how it'd affect me if I did what you do."

[Natalie Denisov]

They could play this game for a long time, but Natalie just smiles and says, "Okay. Apology accepted." She leans forward and kisses Shari.
